Location is good, but service is terrible. 3 pieces of paper to sign when you arrive. Extra charge for WiFI and safety box. Late check out at ridiculous prices. Manager didn't speak English. On top of that just after midnight they checked in another person for the same room. You can imagine how you feel when somebody enters your room... More

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in! This place makes some Backpackers a 4 star rating...We stayed here for 4 nights during the World Cup... The beds are old and worn; we couldn't sleep on one of the two joined singles because it was so sunken in. Dust and dirt all through the rooms without even the most basic level of... More

We stayed in this hotel as part of an organised tour. I would never have booked here otherwise reading the reviews on this site. The hotel was old. The front desk staff was not helpful. My recommendation on the available wi-fi is do not pay for it because it doesn't work. Just use the free wi-fi in the foyer. The... More

Can Not Believe there are 20 or so worse hotels in Rio. Anyone who praises its location as a positive is having a laugh. It is one one of the quietest streets in Copacabana and a good 3-4 block walk to the beach. The best feature of the place is the foyer. You feel like you are in a reasonable... More

By far, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in my life. We arrived just after 3p to check in, but our room wasn't ready yet. Not a big deal, we'll check our bags and get some lunch. When we came back two hours later, our luggage was just sitting in a corner near the front door... More

I've stayed in quite a few hotels during my month in Brazil. From Rio to Cuiaba and from Porto Alegre all up the East Coast. Probably around 15 hotels during this time and this place is by far the worst!! When I first arrived I was quote excited about my 5 night stay, the lobby area is very flash and... More

Stayed here during World Cup largely due to location and proximity to beach. Hotel facade and foyer are impressive but that's where it ends. Rooms old dirty and disgusting. All rooms facing back of hotel stink due to smells from the adjacent jungle. Beds terrible. Bathrooms filthy. Have to pay extra for everything. Wifi, safe etc. breakfast very average. Wifi... More

I stayed at the Royalty Copacabana Hotel during a two-night stay in Rio that was part of a two-week trip in Brazil with a leadership group. This was our first impression of Brazil. The good aspects of this hotel are that it is within walking distance to restaurants and, most importantly, the beach. The rooftop view is nice and there... More
