Rooms are large, but are quite noisy, you can actually hear what's going on in other rooms. Breakfast is just ok. The hotel is near a subway station and not far from downtown, but not recommended for wandering around at night, specially if you are a foreigner tourist. Few nice restaurant options nearby.

Stayed here late dec,2013, on working trip. The hotel is dated as are the rooms. The view from my room was a dark inner void looking at similar room windows.the air conditioner unit was an old box type, circa 1970,and only worked as a fan unit. The bed was comfortable but all features in room were worn and dated.Breakfast was very good, however.Staff friendly and... This is possibly overall the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The lobby is marble and quite luxurious leading you to believe the same quality applies to the rooms... nothing can prepare you for the shock of stepping out of the elevator in to corridors with stained nylon carpets and black refuse sacks taped to door frames. We were... More

Absolutely disgusting staff attitude, paid the mini bar bill the night before check out and then charged almost double on check out of room which they wouldn't admit was there mistake. Dated rooms, building work all hours in the corridors and a buffet that serves off food. Do not stay here it's foul!!!!!

This time I stayed 4 days in Rio for business. The main reason for choosing this hotel was the location - not so far from both Downtown Rio (where I had a business) and from Copa Cabana beach. Entire area is good, walking distance for shops, rests, etc... But hotel may be better, and that is why: 1. Air conditioner... More

Very dated hotel... apparently partly renovated. The only part that looked modern was the reception area. Friendly staff, but very basic rooms. The internet connection was awful. Breakfast very basic too. Overpriced.

The internet connection was CRAP; didn't work, didn't have a good coverage (I had to write or read emails from the bathroom or standing by the door) and super slow. The safety deposit boxes didn't work. Long time waiting for slow elevators The key-electricity unit in my room didn't work and I had to change rooms (after unpacking and after... More

If you have to do business near the Catete Palace, this is a very suitable place. Also good if you need to use the metro, as the nearest station (Catete) is only one block away (and from there you can get to the city centre within only two stops). Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast wasn't fantastic but quite good,... More

We were very grateful to be able to stay for a night before embarking on a cruise as this was the night before Carnival when no other hotel wanted us. The hotel also obligingly looked aft our cases whilst we went on a 2 day trip to Iguassu. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating making it a pleasure to... More

Stayed for 8 nights during Carnival. Not the ideal location but it does have some perks. Free wi fee (didn't use it) but if you need internet use it as the business centre is expensive 15 BR for 15 minutes, when you can get internet at a cafe for 1 BR for 15 minutes. Easily walk to the Metro from... More
