We stayed here for 4 nights total. It is one block up from the beach and we could see the beach from our balcony if we looked right. We couldn't figure how to lock our balcony door though. Across from us was a wealthier apartment complex and up the street there was a great bar with an outdoor terrace. The... more

I think some of the reviewers that gave an excellent review to this hotel must be talking about the Everest Rio Hotel. There is not much good to write about this hotel, the only good thing is the location, but even then, there are some other hotels close by that are a lot better. I don't minde the rooms being... more

While I read many reviews of the Everest Rio all I was hoping for was a comfortable bed and a hot shower since I was on a business trip with not much time for sunning at the beach. I was very pleased with the staff - most of whom could understand English. My room view had much to be desired... more

Stayed for 5 nights in the beginning of February. Very pleased with the staff and the cleanliness. Breakfast is fairly decent. Staff is very helpful even if they don't speak English all of them. From doormen to the cleaning lady are all with a smile. A great plus is the 24h room service. The location is great too! Definitely our... more

I'd like to say I had a fun time in Rio, but I can't. Scenically, it's a stunning place and pleased that I made a trip. But once was enough. Rio for me conjured up a beautiful nightlife, music everywhere and the like. I found it very sedate. Ok, it rained a lot, but was still warm. I actually cut... more

Having read a good review of this hotel in the Lonely Planet, I ended up having a terrible stay. After experiencing a problem with my mastercard in brazil, this hotel began continuously pestering me to settle my account (2 days into my 4 day stay). Even after the problem had been sorted out, the night staff rudely accosted me over... more

Stayed here in October of 2003. I very much enjoyed my stay and would return. The desk staff was very friendly, and spoke some English. There are only 25 rooms, all of which have a side view to the beach and a private balcony. I was on the top floor and had a nice view. Showers have great water pressure... more
