My friend and I stayed here for 6 nights during the Soccer World Cup in June. The price of hotels in the Copacabana area at this time was obviously astronomical and this hotel was no different there. Aside from that this hotel is a few blocks back from Copacabana beach so its about a 6 minute walk to get there.... More

Stayed here for the world cup, just glad my company paid for it rather than me! Its best described as the next step up from a B and B. Rooms are very basic, my patio window didn't close securely so I had to jam a plastic chair in the way for added security. Beds were basic with paper thin sheets... More

I was there for a business trip and got a little disapointed, even thought I just slept on the hotel. The building looks old and it seems like no one really takes care of it. Simple reception, the elevator is a lithe scary because of its condition, nice and thoughtful staffs. I'm not saying it's against the law or anything,... More

This is a no frills hotel but is pretty clean and close to the beach. We stayed here twice on our trip. The first time I forgot a tablet in my room but housekeeping saved it and i got it back when I asked the second time. Daily breakfast is pretty good with a fair bit of variety. I would... More

Hotel is perfectly fine, just expect it to be a basic room. The rooms are a decent size and clean. The staff is friendly, but pre-plan your activities (they weren’t the most helpful with restaurant recommendations or things of that nature). The best part about it is the location. Hotel is only a few minutes from the beach! It’s mid-point... More

My friend and I stayed at the Copacabana Sol Hotel the week of WorldCup 2014 on two separate bookings (three nights at Standard Twin room with no view; fourth night at a Superior Luxo room with a view). I liked that this hotel was four blocks away from Copacabana beach, next to stores and restaurants and had WIFI. Also, it... More

This hotel is located four blocks from Copacabana beach. Quiet at night. Close to shops and restaurants. The nearest subway station (Siqueira Campos) is 3 blocks away. Buffet breakfast was very good, rooms very clean and comfortable. The check-in and check-out were very fast and the staff is very helpfull.

No frills and don't expect anything but bureaucratic rooms. A good option for the high season, anyway, when prices are so high. Copacabana beach is just a few blocks away and some other attractions can be easily reached.

I was unfortunately druggged (they poured into my drink what they call CINDERELLA drug) on Sunday night (25-05-2014), in the nightclub called 00. The robbers took me to the hotel and they stole my watch, money, wallet with 500 brazilian reais (250 US dollars approximately) and mobile phone. The hotel staff let them in and they even collaborated. They don't... More
