The Hotel is ok (clean, friendly staff, nicely located near copacabana beach), but the WIFi is a disaster; it is slow and crashs every 3 minutes. Don't go to this Hotel if you need a reliable internet connection.

One good thing, front desk employee speaks and understands basic English. WiFi as promised fast and reliable. Close to shops and restaurants, went looking for a universal plug and found it within minutes.

The price could be better, but the service and the location are top, the staff is really nice and helpful when u need them, the double beds for families of 4 are quite nice as well, the breakfast was OK, I stayed there for 3 days, but after the second day I booked for more 3 and was nice and... Copacana Sol is a simple hotel. Got a non renovated room with an old tube tv (didn't know they still existed). Room is dated but was clean. Not the best bed, linens, pillows, shower But hey rates were around USD100, which given the location and outrageous hotel room prices in Rio is extremely cheap. Breakfast was included and was fine.... More

I stayed at Copacabana Sol during the FIFA World Cup so the prices were exorbitant as has been highlighted by other reviewers. In my estimate it was atleast 3 times its true value. The best thing about the hotel is its location. Just a five minute walk to Copacabana beach and in the middle of all the action. The second... More

My friend and I stayed here for 6 nights during the Soccer World Cup in June. The price of hotels in the Copacabana area at this time was obviously astronomical and this hotel was no different there. Aside from that this hotel is a few blocks back from Copacabana beach so its about a 6 minute walk to get there.... More

Stayed here for the world cup, just glad my company paid for it rather than me! Its best described as the next step up from a B and B. Rooms are very basic, my patio window didn't close securely so I had to jam a plastic chair in the way for added security. Beds were basic with paper thin sheets... More

I was there for a business trip and got a little disapointed, even thought I just slept on the hotel. The building looks old and it seems like no one really takes care of it. Simple reception, the elevator is a lithe scary because of its condition, nice and thoughtful staffs. I'm not saying it's against the law or anything,... More

This is a no frills hotel but is pretty clean and close to the beach. We stayed here twice on our trip. The first time I forgot a tablet in my room but housekeeping saved it and i got it back when I asked the second time. Daily breakfast is pretty good with a fair bit of variety. I would... More

Hotel is perfectly fine, just expect it to be a basic room. The rooms are a decent size and clean. The staff is friendly, but pre-plan your activities (they weren’t the most helpful with restaurant recommendations or things of that nature). The best part about it is the location. Hotel is only a few minutes from the beach! It’s mid-point... More
