No hairdryer Would benefit from taxi pick up service from airport More details: We arrived at 11pm due to a late flight, and they were incredibly helpful in taking our booking that late. Stayed on a last minute trip to Rio without reservations, so can't complain about the high price which is normal for Rio. This is a basic hotel typical in Brasil without any frills. Good morning breakfast, friendly staff, clean...so I give 4 stars. They lost a 5th star because the clerk tried to add the booking.com fee onto my "final"... More

With all the countless advices and warnings over the internet about the safety in Rio, we felt safe in Copacabana Sol Hotel as it is always busy with tourists and somewhat in the neighborhood of the upper middle class cariocas. There were police stationed in every corner which made you feel even safer. Good location also as it is near... More

Rio is a surprisingly expensive city to stay in. We stayed in a place our first night that was pretty disgusting, and were looking to find a new place at the last minute. Sol is clean and well-run. The staff was friendly and spoke great English. We arrived very early and they kept our bags for us. The rooms are... More

In this days when Rio is really overpriced and a room can cost you more than in Paris, this hotel is a true possibility if you like local architecture, nice mango and papaia breakfast and friendly staff. The hotel is located on a nice 'rua', 4 blocks from the beach and 2 from Nossa Senhora de Copacabana. In this area... More

No complaints, but nothing really special to say either! Good location, ok rooms, clean, average service, and ok breakfast. A little overpriced for what it offers, but well within the expected range for hotels in that location. If you decide to go on any tours, don't hire through them because they take a considerable markup (as do most other hotels... More

I stayed here for the week while at a conference. My suite was spacious, clean, the air conditioning worked well, and I enjoyed staying there. The hotel provided a very nice buffet breakfast, fruit, pastries, and cold meat/cheese. The hotel is three blocks from the beach, and close to commuter bus routes. I'd be happy to stay there again.

Rio de Janeiro is expensive town in Brazil (at least about the hotels) and this one had the price according to what it offered. Great localization (near the beach of Copacabana, bus and subway stope), the room and bathroom were clean and good for a short stay, breakfast was ok. Rio is not a city for someone spend too much... Arrived yesterday for a couple of days. Centrally located between thenocean and some favelas behind the hotel it still is an option for much too expensive rio de janeiro. The fact that the rack rate was 650 real and i only paid 220 was not helpful at all knowing that a hotel like this in any other country would not... More

Good place to stay if you want to save some money ( considering Rio is expensive for hotels) and still you are close to the beach. The hotel is 6 blocks away from the beach. Should take 6-8 minutes by walk. The hotel is clean and good. Hotel staff in reception and especially restaurant are very friendly.
