Service was good, rooms average, breakfast good and cleanliness good. So you will survive without a problem. In Europe this would be a normal but 3 star. Good thing is you are one block walking distance from Copacabana, if that is where you need to be.

Billed as 4 star but more like a 3. But not to worry. Friendly staff especially the bell boys. Rafael our favourite, not only pointed us but walk us to the best churracos, meat place, in town. Lovely sirloin and top loin. The beach, is just 100 meters away. Lots of lovely seafood place too and Amir, a great lebanese... More

Stayed 3 nights in July. The plus points: - location very convenient - Wifi free, unlimited devices - breakfast very decent - friendly front-desk The less good points: - rooms outdated - sometime noisy - bathrooms in need of renovation In short: Not a generally bad place, but expect a budget hotel at premium price.

This hotel doesn't deserve its 4 stars at all. We thought there might be a difference between 4 stars in Europe and Brazil, but other Brazilian cities showed us it was not the case. The room and building were quite old and not in the greatest shape. From the 10th floor we heard lots of noise coming from the street... More

Though this hotel is indicated a 4*, its services are pretty broke down (must have been very nice 40 years ago). The pool on the top is horrible, the gym room also. Rooms and the air conditioning is also broke down, noisy, ancient, Brekafast is average, staff is ok.

We stayed for one week at the Copacabana Mar Hotel. The service is really not friendly and you won't be welcomed with a smile for sure. The hotel lobby does not offer wifi and the staff is not helpful helping you to take or make phonecalls. The breakfast is simple and not up to the normal Rio level, actually it's... More

Very well located, just 2 blocks away from Copacabana beach. The rooms are nice, but could be better maintained, and the breakfast is ok. The major con is that the rooms on the lower floors that face the street are quite noisy at night (cars, garbage trucks, etc.).

I stayed 5 days in the hotel (April 2014) and had a very good impression. Breakfast is great! The building may not be the best, as is not very modern but the location is amazing, very safe area and staff is friendly and provide good advice about things to do/not to do. A bit noisy during the weekend nights but... More

Rather boring hotel with inattentive and uninterested staff. Very hot room with the air condition turned off while we were out. With temperatures over 100 Fahrenheit it was impossible to be in the room during the first hour after coming in. We wanted to pay for the additional cost for air condition but that was not possible. We moved out... More

Stayed here for 4 days last week and we couldn't have been more pleased. The hotel is very well located as it's only 2 blocks from the Copacabana beach. In addition - pharmacies, supermarkets, and restaurants can all be found within 1-2 block walking distance - so it's very convenient! We felt very safe as the area gets a lot... More
