I booked my last two nights hotel in Rio through the Air Canada website while I was in Iguacu Falls...the night before my return to Rio. I booked the Astoria because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. I waited for about 90 minutes for a bus at the airport...the first one was full so had to wait for another one... more

The hotel is at good location. It is easy to find. We took the bus from airport to the hotel. Also, we managed to use Metro/Bus to get to Corcovado, Sugar loaf and center. The room has nice shower room and safe, fridge etc. The air condition is a little noisy and the hotel charged internet access. It is odd... more

I was very happy with my stay here, it is only 3 short blocks from Copacabana beach, a nice modern hotel, very friendly receptionist, good buffet breakfast with lots of choices. Rooms have a safe free of charge. Neighbourhood feels safe. Hotel is in a quiet side street but not deserted. Single rooms are very small but fine with me,... more

We stayed 5 nights in Rio, arrived with the early morning flights. We had a good starting impression: we got to the hotel at 6 AM, and check-in is at 11. But since nobody stayed in our booked room the night before, they did let us in. I was very greatful, had a bad sleep on the flight. Thanks for... more

I was very pleased with my stay at the Astoria. For less than £40 per night for the room, I was in a good hotel, with great amenities (like pool, fitness centre - although had no time to use them), good buffet breakfast and 2 blocks from Copacabana Beach. Felt safe in the neighbourhood. Staff were helpful at reception to... more

I've stayed in this hotel on July on a business trip. The hotel is right in front of Copacabana beach; you can't be any closer to the beach than this. Copacabana is a really nice beach, and a wonderful area of Rio. During the day the area was quite lively and lots of people around, but during the night it... more

We stayed here for 3 nights. We were a group of 3, with a teenager. They upgraded us free to the Azul room on the 11th floor. To our suprise we had 2 bedrooms with 2 TV's and 3 phones, refrigerator, our own personal small pool, sauna and private ourdoor area with chairs and table. It was very quiet and... more

I have stayed in many tourist hotels in Rio and they often tend to be expensive by Brazilian standards. However, the Astoria really delivers in terms of value for money and quality. It's clean, quiet (not common) and efficiently run. The other reviews here are a fair reflection of what the hotel offers. more

Okay... here is the real deal on this hotel.... I admit it, I thought I was booking Hotel Astoria Palace on Atlantica Ave (the newer Hotel Astoria). All of the internet pictures I found showed mostly those from the newer hotel. When I arrived at my hotel via taxi from the airport, I have to admit to have been a... more

Using their site reservation system, we made a reservation (with a credit card) more than 3 months ahead of time for this hotel. After 2 long flights to Rio de Janeiro (5 hours the first and 10 hours the second) we arrived at this hotel. Of course we were so tired and we just want a shower and relaxing to... more
