Funny, I found the front staff to be very un-friendly. Manager tried to give us a room with a concrete wall view. She said it was her favorite room. This hotel is located about a 3-5 min walk to Copacabana Beach and a 8-10 min walk to Ipanema Beach. Both beaches beautiful but Ipanema is the best one. Our room on the 12th floor overlooked one of the shanty towns or favellas probably a mile or two away if you were to travel there but we had no problems. A friendly, clean and comfortable hotel at a moderate price. Room service is available 24 hours and is a shhort 2 block walk to the beach. The one bedroom suites are a good deal. Ask for a high floor to avoid street traffic noise during the day. I stay here every time I am in Rio. more
