This place was not what I pictured when I think of a 4 star hotel. A very small pool, that was more the size of a jacuzzi, was a little disappointing. That being said, It had all that was needed. Nice cordial staff, all or the large majority of which spoke English very well, so there was never any communication... More

I stayed here for 1 night in a standard room. The room was okay, the curtains are outdated and needed to be replaced and the view was terrible, it was of the fans from the hotel air conditioning. The bathroom was small but nice and the room itself was cleaned well. The lobby is nice but the rest of the... More

Hotel rates itself 4 star (diamond) but is probably 2.5 to 3 in reality as is the breakfast which had slightly dubious looking hot food and no hot water for tea on most days we were there.Rooms are reasonable but somewhat tired. No hot water for showers on one morning.Staff very helpful and spoke reasonable English.Hotel is only 5 minutes... More

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. It was ideally located just 5 mins walk from Copacabana beach. It is close to Christ Redeemer and Sugarloaf and the bus stop is just outside the hotel. The buses were safe and cheap. The room was huge - the bed was huge! The breakfast was good - bread, cake, fruit and... More

The location is not so bad, only 10 minutes walk to Copacabana beach. There was nothing special about this hotel. We stayed in a suite and still it was dirty and the toilet was broken. We had to complain about cleaning but nothing changed. Breakfast is not so good. Even though they have a variety of food, the buffet is... More

I stayed in Best Western's Rio Copa for 2 nights. Overall it was alright (+good location,-noice coming from the big street) but when I left to the airport a senior member of the door staff tried to trick me with the taxi! He told me that it would cost 80 Reais and he would tell the driver not to take... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in November 2011 and got a very reasonable price by booking in advance - the same price as a hostel in Ipanema. It is a Best Western, so not much character or overly special, but we knew to expect that on our budget! Nevertheless the rooms were clean and spacious. Not much of a... More

I chose this hotel based on the good reviews I read on this site. I am quite pleased with my decision mainly because I forgot to lock my safe one day and everything was still there after cleaning staff was in plus maintenance staff fixed a curtain. Its a little walk to the beach but I compromised this for safety,... More
