My parents booked this hotel for my partner and I as a gift as it was his first time in Brazil. We usually travel more simply staying in pousadas or hostels but my parents wanted to give us a nice experience. Unfortunately it was not the case. In my booking it was written check in time was 14.00. We arrived... More

The first unpleasant situation was getting a cab from the airport. They charged a flat rate of 60 Real to get to the hotel. Our return trip to the airport by metered cab was 25 Real( Brazil currency). The experience just continued downhill from there. Arriving at the hotel there is a trampoline skateboard type ramp to get into the... More

The worst experience ever. It has never happened to me before to stay in such a bad hotel. The most arrogant hotel manager imaginable. Refused to speak english when I complained to him. And in the end they charged me 950 Reals (over 300 USD) for forgetting the key in my room. This was just outrages. Not to mention that... More

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever had the disappointment to stay in. Cockroaches all over the house, smelly, noisy, staff unhelpful, rooms small, no wifi. One can easily see cockroaches in the dining area and have breakfast with them. Location is the only value of this unbearable place. Had to pay extra for safe.

Because of the polite and helpful manner of hotel staff,I will not say ""it is the most horrible one I've ever seen or stayed in my life, but I have to say that it is the worst hotel I have stayed up till that time". Outdated ,smelly, loud noise air conditioner kept my friend and me awake till the morning broke .On... More

We stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of our dream trip to Rio & The Amazon. We also had a reservation here for 2 nights at the end of our trip (after spending 2 days in Manaus & 5 days on the Amazon River), but had decided by the end of the first day that we would be... More

Dirty, smelly, poorly maintained with dirty bedding and a balcany (2nd floor) sliding door that did not lock. Quite the worst hotel i've ever stayed at. Positives - it was close to the beach and I only stayed one night. By the way the club next door is a brothel so you ge the gist

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
