I have been contacted by demand from a number of you wanting more information about my review on this hotel. The following should help to clear up errors and doubt. The hotel was rated 3.5 stars by the operator Gold Medal Travel Group Plc. I made a mistake when writing Gold Tours, I must revoke this. Please understand, I would... More

This hotel has a great value, the rooms are new, pretty reformed. My reservation was for a double room with a double bed. For my surprise, the room had a big bed that could be shared for 3 people (not our case). The bathroom was big too, it had two sinks and the shower was good with hot water, but... More

The hotel is very old. The bath room smelled bad. I have to ask for a different one. You can hear your neighbor flushing, showering and door slamming. Unable to close windows tight, you can hear all the street noises.Sheets were dirty and you can see blood stain...Gross. It is about 7-8 blocks to Copacabana beach. The walk is a... More

We stayed here for 5 nights, and chose this hotel since it was near our family's house and we were in Rio for a family event. The location is nice, with many restaurants and shops nearby and the beach 3 blocks away. The breakfast is out-of-this-world amazing, so many options ranging from fresh fruit to scrambled eggs, including cakes, cereal,... More

you pay for, what you receive, overall this hotel was about 4-5 blocks or a 5 minute walk to the beach.. this building appears to be a converted apartment building about 6 bedrooms on each and a bar and pool on the top floor, there really wasn't much of a view but still enjoyable. the breakfast in the morning was... It is a nice hotel, which a cost per night lower than the average in the region. The location is nice, only few blocks from the beach, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The bed is not very comfortable but that is common in Brazil. I would recommend it if you do not want to spend a lot and do... More

May be exist better places considering the price. The lateral room is like a corridor. The breakfast is well served, it has swimming pool, gym room and is near of "Copa" beach. I recommend search another options, but if you must stay here, consider is near the Copacabana.

Hotel is excellently situated just a couple of minutes walk from the beach. The hotel rooms are quiet and adequate, the pool on the top of the hotel is lovely and has views all over Rio. Reception staff were efficient and helpful. Not too expensive either!

One of the worst experiences I have had with a hotel that has been rated 3.5 stars on Trip Advisor and said to be reliable and very good by tour operators. Don't believe it. Majestic Rio Palace Hotel location, facilities, services, staff, furnishings and food was abysmal. They're not ready for Olympics 2016. The tour group that recommends this hotel... More

Good location, room was clean and functional although the air conditioning unit was like having a helicopter land in your room. Too noisy to use at night. The included breakfast was standard hotel fare. The staff, while not being rude, didn't go out of their way to be friendly.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
