Went to Rio for the World Cup, so this probably explains why it seemed expensive. Of the 3 lifts you could only rely on 1 working. Room standard was good and clean, service was OK. Breakfast was a very decent buffet. Probably a safe bet for a business hotel in normal circumstances.

I initially chose this hotel for my stay due to it's proximity to the soccer stadium, Maracana, which was about 10-15 minutes by metro. I'm a soccer fan so I went to Rio for the soccer. The hotel locale reminded me of 42nd street, centrally located. Transportation was very easy to find: cabs, buses, metro, and within steps of the... More

Its a very bad & corrupt hotel. My backpack had been stolen from the reception while checking in with all my money, passport, credit & debit cards, They just wasted my time when i reported it & helped the robbers to escape in away. It happened in front of the hotel security & front desk so the hotel guys must... More

In the last 7-8 years of travel this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Completely over the top prices for a start. No hot water in the showers, slow wifi. Extremely slow serving staff and a bar upstairs advertised as being open until 10pm but no staff to man it. When I phoned reception to... More

The hotel gets the job done, but nothing special. Good location in Centro, but best for business and not the traveler who should really get a place in Copacabana. The hotel has a beautiful, but small pool on the 18th floor with great views. It is downhill from there. Breakfast buffet is good but not as good as we had... More

We stayed in Sao Francisco for a week from 14th June, hotel was located in a decent area close to Lapa which was good for a night out, and a short taxi ride from Cococabana, Maracana etc, rooms were quite small but were very clean and bathroom was good, I found the staff very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good... People at the reception were very helpful, breakfast was fine, rooms are very small, close to the metro station, but be careful if you go out at night, always get a Taxi, there is a small pool on the roof.

Typical modern hotel with all the mod cons you'd expect. It's not located along the Copacabana beach front so avoid if you must. There's a pool on the roof (not that big) and a small gym (typical one treadmill, one rower arrangement). Rooms are clean and staff at the desk speak English.

If you are looking for business in rio center this is a really good location, but if you wish beaches you should find a hotel by the shore. At night beware that the streets around get really unsafe. The a/c should work better, it's really noise and don't get the room cold. The buffet served at the hotel is really... More

Stayed there over the weekend. Guide books suggest area unsafe on weekends, but I had no problems. The area around the nearest metro was a little rough at night and if using metro be alert. Metro btw is great while the buses are unfathomable for the most part Back to the hotel...Front desk people were very friendly and helpful. The... More
