Located in one of the finest areas in Rio, just one block away from Ipanema beach. Nice and polite staff. The restaurant on the top floor is a must, where you can catch a glimpse of the beach on one side and the Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon on the other. Excellent breakfast.

stayed at this hotel five days during regional seminar in March 2014. Nice room (1210) which was renovated recently. Good choice of different courses during both breakfast and lunch at the restaurant at 23rd floor. A couple of buts.... The air condition was so noisy that I had to turn it off to sleep. Very Thin walls/floors/roofs. WiFi included in... More

I stayed here while traveling solo. I had been traveling and working with my graduate school program and was staying in Copacabana with a large group. After the group departed I stayed longer in Rio on my own. I felt incredibly safe and well taken care of here. It's very close to the beach, great restaurants, cultural sites, and within... More

I understand it was Carnival and the need to charge 500+/night. BUT for this price you would expect the lamps to not be barely hanging off the walls, the wooden floors to be intact, the wifi to actually work, and for modern to mean...modern. Well this place is modern if the year were 1975. Bathrooms are clean but extremely dated.... More

What we liked: The location is very good, Ipanema is very nice. The pool on the roof is better than average for a Rio hotel. What we didn't like: We took 3 rooms, ours was a Superior Double Room. The actual room was more like a standard room from our (10 year +) experience in Brazil. We were not happy... More

It has a very good location... Five minutes from Ipanema.... The breakfast is very good! Variety of fresh fruits, pao de queijo, juices, etc. The room is nice but the toilet is very old. The shower was clean but very very old...

This hotel is extremely dated. Quite simply the pictures on the website are just not reflective of the rooms. Our bathroom was dirty and of very poor quality. The rooms, whilst big were marginally better. The service was good and the location is great but overall very poor value for money.

There are 2 Everest hotels in Rio with entrances that are about 70m apart on the same block. Apparently the hotels are owned by the same company. I have stayed at both by accident. The Everest Rio is the nicer hotel. The rooms have been refurbished and are a reasonable size. There is free wifi in the rooms. The breakfast... More

The hotel isn't as it appears in the photos. Our accommodations were old and very dated. I didn't feel the room was clean. The bathroom was horrible and we woke up during the night to the odor of the bathrooms in the building. I thought it was dirty and certainly not as portrayed in the pictures. The pool was not... Nice hotel, nice location, good breakfast, good service. Nothing like being in the heart of Ipanema, one block from one of the best beaches in Rio, close by nice bars and restaurants and also near by shopping area. Better than that only in a ocean view hotel.
