The hotel is wonderfully located in middle of Ipenama-Leblon, one block from the beach with plenty of restaurants and pubs and clubs around. The staff is helpful and eager to please (except for the coldly efficient tall woman at the reception who never made me feel welcome and always gave the impression that this was just a job a do... more

Although not overly impressed at first, the convience and service became the reason I hope to return. Rooms are generous, and with big windows, higher floors have nice views. The "360" grill on roof, (23rd floor) is great. First stop in morning for the included breakfast, and often for lunch poolside. The views are spectacular of mountains, lagoon, ipanema beach.... more

We travel to Brazil and Argentina with the group. Everest Rio Hotel was booked by the travel agency in Argentina that organized this trip. Pros: -Hotel location is good and convenient. -Buffet breakfast is good and the views from the terrace on the roof are spectacular. -Front desk staff mainly was friendly. Cons: -Hotel is worn out. I agree with... more

Hotels in Leblon and Ipanema (and Copacabana for that matter) are almost all of a certain age. Unlike São Paulo, which has many newly built or refurbished hotels and apart-hotels, Rio hotel rooms are mostly fairly antiquated with dated bathroom fixtures and simple room furnishings. Unfortunately prices are uniformly high for what you get. Given this, I think the Everest... more

We spent three nights in Rio as part of a longer Brazil trip. The Everest Rio is old and it shows BUT the location can't be beat. One block to the beach and one block to great shopping. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times. The included breakfast had fresh fruit, fresh bread and rolls, yogurt, eggs, meats... more

The Everest Rio provides basic accomodation and only its location (Prudente de Moraes st., in Ipanema) can justify the rates. The rooms are totally uninteresting and cheap and in some of them there may be problems of noise from traffic in the street below. There is a tiny swimming pool but no one is interested in using it. Acces to... more

Stayed here on business. Have stayed in a good variety of Hotels in Rio but this is the worst so far. Very Poor Quality. Rooms run down and well past their best. Cigarette burns in the bedsheets. Filthy black marks on the bedsheets. Grubby carpet throughout. Air con really noisy and rattly. No view from the room, overlloking a very... more

I only stayed here one night, but was well looked after. For the money it was ok, the bathroom suite was a little antiquated and dark, but it was more than adequate and all very clean. The room was great and the views quite good, although sadly too far for a beach view. The staff on the beach however were... more

This mid size hotel is located on Prudente de Morais street, one block from the Ipanema beach. However, this is not a beach hotel at all. Rather a business and to some degree convention hotel. The feel is more of a midtown place than a beach hotel. Rooms are ageing and have only basic appointments. The restaurant has a breathtaking... more
