The only good point of this hotel is that it walks right up to the beach area via the Miramar Hotel Windsor along Rua Sa Ferreira, and I would say in about 5 minutes. The hotel is clean, but the area is not a safe area, right behind and up the hill is the favela. It has lots of ordinary people... More

As it's said in many reviews, the hotel itself is in bad condition and not maintained. Rooms are old and worn out, the cleaniness is questionable, room are not cleaned daily (or they come very late in the evening when people are already back at hotel), things like wifi or air con is working or not, depends on your luck.... The hotel is Located at the foot of a dangerous favela; The rooms are dirty; The wifi is not working; The tables in breakfastroom are not cleaned up; There are No locks on locker; The staff ignores complaints; The manager in charge didn't show up after i made an appointment.

This place is at the main entrance for the Pavão-Pavãozinho hill. The day we were there, there was policemen heavily armed with rifles and an armored car. The facilities are old and lacking maintenance, at some places you can feel a moldy smell! The staff is friendly. Breakfast is fair. Choose this place only as a last resort.

The worse hotel I never saw. Not well maintained. No internet avaible. It was announced they have it. We ask to fix it to access from our room. At first they lie saying they will fix it. Later they said the throuble was on our gadgets. I do not recommend this hotel to anybody.

The location is very good - 5 minutes to go and you can play football with cariocas at wonderful Copacabana beach. It's no far from the Ipanema and from the merto station as well. I enjoyed the hotels breakfasts - had enough different fruits for example. The service was goog, room was cosy with a view to the ocean. But... More

My husband and I stayed at Ducasse in August 2009. I’m brazilian but I live for many years overseas and completely forgot about the danger specially talking about Rio. I paid for everything upfront included the pick up and drop off from and to he hotel/airport. The guy simply did not showed up. The second disappointment is that when we... More

When I've arrived they didn't have any reservations, wich I did and payed from my homeland. So I've lived 2 days almost being hounded by the whole staff. The hotel is located at the foot of a favela !! As other traveller told "The state of the rooms is far from great". Terrible noisy 24 hs. a day, so, if... More

My husband and I recently stayed at the Ducasse. We live in Brazil, we have stayed in over 25 hotels in Rio. We have never — ever — had any problems or complaints. But the Ducasse left us simply appalled. The night we were there the boiler broke. (Or was already broken, even when we checked in? We'll never know.)... More
