When I've arrived they didn't have any reservations, wich I did and payed from my homeland. So I've lived 2 days almost being hounded by the whole staff. The hotel is located at the foot of a favela !! As other traveller told "The state of the rooms is far from great". Terrible noisy 24 hs. a day, so, if... more

My husband and I recently stayed at the Ducasse. We live in Brazil, we have stayed in over 25 hotels in Rio. We have never — ever — had any problems or complaints. But the Ducasse left us simply appalled. The night we were there the boiler broke. (Or was already broken, even when we checked in? We'll never know.)... more

I made a reservation over the phone and was quoted $55 a night. I gave my card no for half the stay (4 days) and sent the details over to my mom who was flying into Rio ahead of me. When she came in, she was charged $85 a night for the whole stay. They "forgot of my downpayment" and... more

We booked this hotel for a budget escape to Rio, during high season (January, summer). We browsed various hotels located in Copacabana, looking basically for a good price (or cost bennefit) and in this aspect the Ducasse Hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel's website had an offer R$189,00 per night, for one double room night including breakfast - which is... more

They showed a picture of a swimming pool - yet, all they has was a sauna? Aside from that, an "okay" place; super coffee and nice breakfasts -- located 1/2-block from the slums. Considering the low off-season rate, I suppose it was worth it. Yet, on an overall basis, this was probably the finest vacation I recall, ever! Didn't spend... more

We looked at other hotels around our budget and this came out the best. On arrival, we were pleasently surprised. Room small but clean. Breakfast was good and included in price. Location great. Staff helpful and will book tours and transport for you. more

I've been on August and I was locating a cheap hotel and well located, so I find vey good opinions of this hotel, and I agree with them, I stay in a room with two twin beds, the room is small, the shower and badroom are really small, but you have a view in the balcony to Copacabana beach, the... more

The hotel is basic but a good value....for less than US$60/night, you get a clean, but dated room with a balcony and a waterview. The room safe was not working and the room was overall very plain, but being so close to Ipanema and Copacabana is a great advantage. This is not a lavish place to stay, but when you... more
