The hotel is dated. The bedding is probably from the 80’s. Despite that, the hotel is clean. So if you are on a budget and want to stay on Copacabana beach (which is 1 block away), it is an option. The staff spoke English but would not assist in booking anything not through the hotel- we wanted to take the... More

I stayed for 3 nights during the World Cup. The location is excellent, 3 minutes walk to the beach and most amenities close by. The rooms were slightly tired, and the beds felt like they were not the best. The bathroom, on the other hand, was excellent with a very large, powerful shower. The breakfast room was ok, and the... At $550 a night I'm expecting a lot. Granted I am a hotel snob and there is a world cup going on... for $550 a night I would hope at least some modern standards. This place is a pit and what bothered me the most is that it smells like a public toilet you would find at a beach... probably... More

As many of the other reviews have said, this hotel is in a great location but the maintenance and service are too lacking to make the experience a good one. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Copacabana beach. It is also very close to a market and each room has a small fridge which is convenient. The beds... More

Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The room was too simple and old...safe was really old and non-functioning. The telivision was the size of a computer monitor about 17" which was in the corner of the room. Bathroom was dark and old. Cleanliness was an issue. Breakfast was okay but saw a small cockroach on the tablecloth. The reception... More

Stayed from 25 - 27 June for a short visit and was immediately not impressed by the outlook of the hotel. Check in was some what smooth however, the room I got had a bad/foul smell of smoke and I was on a non-smoking floor! Breakfast was average and nothing much to shout about. At the same time, there's renovation... More

Overnight stay, before joining the Carnaval Package. Located 1 block from the beach, unfortunately not much of a view. A bit noise with the buses coming around the corner, however it was great to walk to the beach early in the morning. There is generally, on going activity in the area so you feel relatively safe. If you one for... More

This hotel was recommended to us by our travel agent, she also said she has stayed there and said it was a good choice. I was expecting more, since the price is still higher than what we would pay for a nicer hotel here in the USA. I would describe this hotel to be similar to a small hotel in... More

Stayed here for 5 nights on a business trip and found it much better than some reviewers. You're not in Manhattan or Mayfair, so it is different. All the services worked as expected, and the staff were all very helpful. It doesn't belong to a hotel group but to a resident owner. Very extensive self-service breakfast that caters for all... As seems to be the standard in Brazil, the rooms are Spartan and need a thorough upkeep. Noisy airco, flimsy sheeting and oldfashioned bathroom with the typical 'pluffy' Brazilian toiletseats. The swimmingpool is more kids size, so don't count on it. Breakfast at the tiny balcony is a pro. Internet is poor. Overall, the price/quality at BRL 330 per night... More
