The rooms are fine, big with a nice bathroom. The a/c and wifi were fine, but not particularly strong. The people were helpful and friendly. Its a block from the beach and not far from Ipanema. There is no real view though. Breakfast was good, heavy on cake. Our room was quiet, but I heard that the rooms on the... More

Can't fault the hotel. Close to the beach. Staff were friendly. Room was clean and had what we needed. Not bad value for money. Rio is an intimidating place when you first arrive so to be greeted by friendly staff was very nice. Breakfast included was good also

Undoubtedly the location was outstanding. Two minutes to copacabana beach, fifteen to Ipanema and surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. But the service was atrocious! Front desk staff would almost sneer at you, like you were in some way an imposition on their day; that is if they looked up from their phones. Breakfast staff however, were gorgeous... More

Regarding location is a good and central place to stay. Only 2-3 min walking to the famous Copacabana beach. All restaurants and cafes are nearby. Lovely staff and breakfast as well as great Wi-Fi. But, the rooms are looking a bit "tired". Old linen and towels. In fact, towels were looking so worn out it was unpleasant to use them.... More

Hotel is welcoming on arrival. English speaking staff helpful. Room was big compared to others on our trip to South America. Safe that you are charged R4 per day but well worth the minimal cost. No tea or coffee facilities. Bathroom offers normal toiletries - shampoo and conditioner and soap. No tissues. Bath towels and hand towels and floor mat... More

Copa Sul was a block and a half off the beach around "Point 5", which is a reference to the lifeguard stations on the beach. The walk to Copacabana beach is 5 minutes or less, and 15-20 minutes to Ipanema beach. We enjoyed walking between the beaches, and had it not been cloudy, we would have been able to see... More

Location was fabulous. Room was big but it's a simple 2star..staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast and Wifi were great. Don't use the phone in the hotel as it cost us AUD30 for a local call for 10mins, and we were booking a tour of the rainforest.

Stayed here for Carnival 2015. This location was a short walk to shops, bus routes, train stops, and world famous Copacobana Beach. Staff was extremely people friendly and helpful when I was trying to get directions to different parts of the city. All guests received a free custom made shirt for Carnival. Really nice touch. Free daily breakfast was great... More

The hotel is very close to the famous Copacabana Beach, which is overrated when compared to our Australian beaches. We arrived late and decided to eat in the hotel dining room, a big mistake! The staff were more interested in setting up for breakfast than looking after us. The food was substandard and took a long time to be served.... More

One block from the Copacabana beach, with lots of supermarkets and restaurants on a walk distance. The hotel itself is good, but simple. My main problem was with the shower, because I have a 2 year old son and it was too small to bath him... The hotel then provided a baby bath tube, which solved my problem, but if... More
