We used this hotel for 2 nights on the 4th July to 6th July. We arrived early in the morning and was only expecting luggage holding service, they did however offer us a first option on the next available room which surprised me. Hotel location is close to copocabana beach but the wrong end in my opinion. Safe location and... More

We stayed 3 nights while visiting Rio. The place is clean and very good situated close to Copacabana beach. For Ipanema and nice restaurants, you have to walk a little further. We felt safe in the streets. The hotel is a little retarded, but the rooms are spacious and beds are big and comfortable. Breakfast is also very good, with... More

Searching the websites for a good hotel in Rio, without paying too much, takes plenty of time. But we found this place and the reviews seemed ok. Got a great deal, so we decided to spend 3 nights at Copa Sul. Our room was spotlessly clean and had a simple, but still modern furniture. Beds were excellent and very comfortable.... More

Stayed here several nights. Had a street side room which was noisy would have thought for the price the windows would be double glazed to keep noise down.one of our windows the catch was broken on so it had to be tied shut. Room was pokey and outdated. Air conditioning was noisy when running. Front of house staff were unfriendly.You... More

PROS: One block away from the beach Modern decor in lobby Overall average clean Breakfast food is good but they use a cheap coffee machine CONS: No bars, clubs, or nice restaurants walking distance. All you will find is a couple of cheap places serving greasy pizza. I stayed with a group and almost every room had an issue such... More

I'm a wheelchair user. After I saw the room, we were accomodated in, I thought that this is not acceptable for me, and I have to try to get a better room. The door to the bathroom (and toilet) was too small (narrow), to get in. I fit almost everywhere (60cm is the limit), but this door was even smaller.... More

Before we decided to stay here, we read reviews on multiple sites and assumed that, at best, this hotel was going to be mediocre. We had very few options as we're in Rio during the build up to the final of the World Cup, which means inflated prices and very little options available to choose from. Well, I think the... More

Stayed 2 nights during the World Cup and as with all hotels in Rio it was hugely overpriced for the standard of accomodation. Discounting that external factor, the Copa Sul was pretty decent. Good, varied breakfast, very comfortable and clean rooms and an excellent location. One comment I would repeat from many other visitors though is the surly and generally... More

The hotel is located on Copacabana, along Atlantic Avenue a short walk to the beach. Hotel Interior looks modern, quiet and pleasant. reception staff try to give courteous and efficient service. The room is spacious and furnished, the beds very comfortable. Breakfast is rich and varied.

Three of us stayed here in a triple room for three nights during the World Cup. The room rate was extortionate but we expected that. the usual rate is reasonable. The location, on Copacabana and Ipanema beach was excellent and there are some reasonable restaurants locally. The reception staff were friendly and professional and managed to get us two tickets...
