I chose this hotel from a list supplied by the tour company I booked with, because of it's proximity to both Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches. It was also moderately priced which is important as a solo traveler. One block from Copacabana and 4 from Ipanema was just so good as you could easily walk to them at any time of... More

The hotel is a bit run down and not that clean. Saw an enormous cockroach run across the lobby. The ancient air-conditioner in the room makes a frightful noise. But even without the aircon, sleep is virtually impossible because of the noise from the street right throughout the night. Soundproofing urgently needed. Staff at the front desk barely cordial. Breakfast... More

The hotel is located near Copacabana's beach, only one quarter to there. You can go walking to the Ipanema beach and see the wonderfull sunset on Arpoador. Very good location. The furniture is new. The breakfast is good. The staff is friendly and the hotel has many tours that you can take.

I found the service good, breakfast is well prepared with a good selection of fruits and around 10 types of breads/cakes that repeat daily. The room is comfortable, but the shower area is small. The hotel seems to be clean and staff is helpful. The rooms have blackout curtains and the air conditioning is old-fashioned, making lots of noise. The... More

Front Desk-- Employees must not be allowed to smile; no matter how many times we can and went from the hotel, we never received a welcome or smile from the many employees who stood guard each day. They make TSA officials seem friendly. Room-- if you like hard beds and flat pillows, this is the place for you. If not,... More

The hotel shows signs of age but the rooms were clean and spacious. A good location, about a block from the beach and plenty of eateries and shopping nearby. The banks nearby were no go for currency exchange but the front desk was very helpful. A busy street but the road noise didn't interrupt us on the 5th floor.

A very average hotel. Staff are really good and friendly, not the best English but they make a effort. The beds were not that comfy, very hard to sleep up and in the evening wifi was very slow and some days not at all. Free breakfast downstairs although the bar was never open in an evening the whole 2 weeks... More

While this hotel is just a short block from Copacabana beach, it is not where we would have chosen to stay. We were on the third floor, the floor was dirty the whole time, the aircon rattled continuously, no double glazed windows so the continual traffic noise came through, the once white sheets and towels are sadly grey/beige and there's... Stayed overnight before joining a tour We found the lady at the front desk helpful and the room on 9th floor quiet clean and spacious. The bell boy ensured everything was working and how to use the safe. the district was safe with bars and restaurants close by .would stay again . Cannot comment on price value as paid with... More

I chose this hotel because it has really good reviews on trip advisor. After checking in I asked myself if I should trust those reviews as the room was dirty and really ugly. They charged me 1 night extra because I asked to check in 4h earlier ( I accepted so this was my fault, although other hotels have never... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
