Was I at another hotel? My room was spacious and clean and contained all I required. The hotel staff were very helpful and cheerful. The pool was nice, the skyline restaurant food was exceptional and the staff pleasant and attentive. I appreciated the security offered (I wouldn't want to meet 'girls' wandering in unchallenged). The only downside was the internet... more

Very expensive, room very spacious but in desperate need of modernisation - bathroom particularly bad. Pool area - view excellent but seating needs varnishing etc with poor level of maintenance I also stayed at the Pestana Rio Atlantico - which was a million times better for the same price!! Hotel aslo feels too big - no level of service etc more

Rio Othon Palace is a rip off. I was told $110.00 a night by hotels.com and then they switched the price on me to R330 per night which if you do the math is $165 a night. I scheduled my room for 2 people but there's a hotel policy that is not mentioned in the Hotel Policies that print up... more

Dear guest, According to Brazilian law, every person that has access to hotel rooms must be properly registered as a guest. This federal law is meant to protect all our guests. Your room already had two persons registered. Our hotel only has double rooms in witch we can install one extra bed or a crib for triple occupancy and for...

A good spot right on Copa beach with awesome views from the room. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms and it was adequate, clean but as everyone has noted quite dated in style... but that seems to be the norm for Rio ... its not exactly as hip as Buenos Aires for hotels etc... Value was only ok,... more

Great service at check in. Helpful staff. Quality was in line with price paid. Included buffet breakfast, which had good fruits, breads, and limited hot food. Room was clean, although the patio door had broken around the handle. Rather than replace, they cut a small part of the door glass out. leaving a baseball sized hole. This was in the... more

The staff were generally good - I have never had room service requests acted on so quickly. There were a few discrepancies at check out but most of them were in our favor. The lock and room safe were a pain - the lock wouldn't go in unless you used all of your weight up against the door, and the... more

We stayed in one of the refurbished Ocean view 'deluxe' rooms on the 25th floor. True the view was spectacular but that was about it. The rooms are large but from our extensive travels the refurbished rooms looked dated and cheaply done out, anyone would think they were just about to be rerefurbished not already done! Being in one of... more

The view was excellent, righ on the copacabana beach, but the room was sub par. The door to the balcony did not lock, the safe was broken and the rooms had not been updated in 30 years. The hotel staff said they had updated rooms but they wanted you to pay more for them. So, ask for a room on... more

The location of this hotel is amzing, right on Copacabana beach. Though next time I would stay in the trendier Ipanema. The hotel has an insane view of the beach since it is the tallest building on the strip. The problem with this hotel is that you have to pay for everything! water, gym, local phone calls, and bringing girls... more

About the structure of our hotel, on the superior floors we have the deluxe categories, recently reformed featuring exclusive amenities and still more comfortable. We would like to...
