Very expensive, room very spacious but in desperate need of modernisation - bathroom particularly bad. Rio Othon Palace is a rip off. I was told $110.00 a night by hotels.com and then they switched the price on me to R330 per night which if you do the math is $165 a night. I scheduled my room for 2 people but there's a hotel policy that is not mentioned in the Hotel Policies that print up... more

The view was excellent, righ on the copacabana beach, but the room was sub par. The door to the balcony did not lock, the safe was broken and the rooms had not been updated in 30 years. The location of this hotel is amzing, right on Copacabana beach. Though next time I would stay in the trendier Ipanema. The hotel has an insane view of the beach since it is the tallest building on the strip.
