The bed was amazing!!! Close to the beach and good breakfast. I think it's a good combination to have a good stay in Rio..! Also, the front desk speak English and Spanish..! The bell boys, when they see you confused, reach you and ask if you need anything and the hotel is placed in a safe area. I really loved... More

To be very honest it is hard to see why this hotel is so highly rated We booked ahead and requested 2 sea view rooms but one room must have an easy access shower The location is great across the road to the beach But the hotel is very dated and in need of refurbishment There was no easy access... our hotel room was not in the best conditions but the breakfast was good. However the most negative aspect is the staff - unhelpfull and is only available to help if some extra compensation is involved. I)We booked a taxi to the airport and the price was 35 real above the taximeter! - we then made the same ride from... More

This hotel is right on the Copacabana beach. The hotel serves a buffet breakfast which was lovely. We had a suite on the 12th floor with an amazing view. Night time is especially lovely. The beds were comfortable. The rooms are definitely dated as is the hotel itself although we did find the staff accommodating. If you are looking for luxury,... More

This hotel is quite small but has a great position on Copacabana Beach. First impression of the room was OK - a reasonable size, not enough clothes hangers and a bathroom that is a bit of a let-down. The hotel is very clean, breakfast is a comprehensive buffet and dinners that we had were good, but few people eat in... More

Olinda Rio hotel is located in Copacabana area of Rio.The Hotel sort of overlooks the Copacaban beach if you have the ocean view rooms. The hotel property is pretty run down and poorly maintained. Service is pretty bad and reception staff is not helpful. The bathrooms do not even has tissue paper box. Breakfast that was included in the room... More

I came here for the World Cup in June and the hotel was right on Copacabana Beach where much of the action was. The room was understandably pricey given the time of my trip but the complimentary breakfast was suprisingly good food which to me was unexpected when it is free to guests from past experiences. Staff was very helpful... More

If you are interested in old architecture, this classic style accommodation could be an option. Some facilities are not well maintained though, basic construction are well preserved since its open of 1949. (20 years newer than Copacabana Palace) Beach-side rooms have nice view of Copacabana, although inland rooms have nothing. Breakfast is served almost perfect, variety of selection of foods,... More

We stayed for 5 nights...as it was a busy time of the year and we had to pay on arrival the full amount, we could not move to a beter hotel...The hotel needs some tender loving care...it must have been a nice place once upon a time...now they just make money out of people wanting to be on the main... We enjoyed our stay with the Olinda Rio and would highly recommend it to others for a few reasons. 1. The staff. The front desk people were INCREDIBLE. Remembering us in a huge hotel, helping with our millions of questions, etc. And, the housekeeping staff was amazing. We accidentally left our safe wide open one day and not a thing... More
