Lets start from the good The location is on the beach of Copa Cabana. The service was very friendly and helpful, price include breakfast and the price was very reasonble for the area. The bad... the room reminded me of my grandparents apartment from 20 years ago from almost every aspect (and not in a good way) only my grandparents... More

Stayed here for three night and four days.....arrived at 2pm and asked if we could have a room facing the beach....they have about 30 of them.....the front desk were very polite and said we could have an upgraded room if we could wait for an hour....so we did and went for a walk along the beach and check the surrounding... The most important piece of advice I can offer is “DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL”. It is truly ghastly. But first to be fair, the location is terrific and the rooms are a decent size with great views of Copacabana. However after that it is all downhill. The hotel is very badly in need of refurbishment as all the... More

Stayed there one week. Location is the biggest value of the hotel. The room equipment is quite old but sufficient. Air conditioning in the rooms was very noisy and I am not sure if it was really working. I had view to a smelly yard with noisy air conditionings so I strongly recommend you to take a room with view... More

The hotel could not receive any guest. Urgent need of refurbishing. Dark walls, small bed, ridiculous bathroom, dirty doors, run-down elevator. Good breakfast, even thoug the staff spend the time talking aboutsoccer instead of doing its work. Not consistent staff. Some are friendly and some just give you attention if you ask them to intermediate ($) any kind of service,... More

The room is spacious and the view on Copacabana beach is amazing! Breakfast is good, includes a lot of fruits, juices, cheese, bread etc. The nearest metro station is close enough, it takes approximately 10 minutes to go there. There are a small park and a market on week-end in 3 minutes by walk from hotel. There are good restaurants... More

We stayed at Lancaster for 10 nights for our 2nd anniversary. The location is excellent...it is basically a beachfront hotel, once you cross the street, you're on copacabana beach! For the hotel itself, the service was ok. They tried to take a credit card from us the minute we got there, saying that they hadn't received payment even though we... More

I've been staying in this hotel for 15+ years whenever I go to Rio. Many of the negative comments are valid. I don't think the carpet has been changed or much maintenance done on the rooms or bathroom for years. You will be disappointed if you expect a well-maintained property. That having been said ... I love sitting on the... More

We just got back from this hotel in July 2011. Fantastic location across from the beach. English is spoken at the front desk. An older facility which has some issues but overall a good place to sleep and have a good healthy free breakfast before you start your day of tours or the beach. We had trouble getting phone messages... More

This was my last stop on my 2-week tour through South America. The hotel location was great (right on Copacabana Beach), but the facility left much to be desired. - The elevators were rickety and one of the them always stopped at the 2nd floor, regardless if the button was pushed or not. - The room was very dated and...
