This was reasonably expensive however quite dated. We had a sea view with a balcony which saved things. There was no pool. There are newer but more expensive hotels. It is the area. The beach is huge and well populated. The staff were helpful

This hotel is an older one situated at the end of the Copacabana beach front (other end not Ipanema end) with several restaurants around the corner. Although it is right on the main street we didn't find it noisy and we were only on the second floor with a balcony looking over the street and beach. Reception were efficient and... More

we chose this hotel because it is sea front but we got a horrible room with no view at all. there was an awful smell outside so it wasn't possible to open the only window for some fresh air. it is totally different from the website pictures!

This hotel is small and cramped. Check in is after 2, and the lobby is tiny, which means you're in for a wait in a crammed tiny place. Rooms - Rooms are pretty decent, but nothing great. The doors don't have additional locking other than the regular in-built lock, which is not always safe. The bathrooms were basic, and the... More

as there was a last minute discount we booked this hotel (otherwise the regular price is too high for the service offered). The location is great as it is right at the beach. If you get a room towards the other side of the beach, you look at Christ the Redeemer. Breakfast was included and quite good. The staff is... More

The hotel was small and old looking. Staff are nice but some can be rude. Said good afternoon to doorman as we walked in but they ignored us. Was called mr instead of miss (but i guess thats just bad english). The room was a room for 4 people which had a parting in the middle. The room wasn't very... More

This is a nice hotel, with wi-fi and nice staff, but the renovation does not hide that the rooms are quite old. Apart from that, the room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. The room had a double and a single bed. My room did not have a view, but the ones in front were a bit more expensive... More

I spent 12 days in August 2007 in this hotel... It had probably not up-to-date quality standards, but I had a huge suite, with a big balcony just in front of Copacabana beach.. I had down there a nice churrascaria (Carretao) with excellent price/quality ratio... plus the (now) well known Balcony bar, full of every kind of people and late... More

This is the hotel where my awesome time in Brazil began! After a long trip getting there, with a lot of delays. The view from the balcony was breathtaking! After a relaxing night, which was peaceful and very quiet. I woke up, for a stroll on the beach to come back for a nice breakfast with lots of fruit!

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
