This hotel is small and cramped. Check in is after 2, and the lobby is tiny, which means you're in for a wait in a crammed tiny place. Rooms - Rooms are pretty decent, but nothing great. The doors don't have additional locking other than the regular in-built lock, which is not always safe. The bathrooms were basic, and the... More

as there was a last minute discount we booked this hotel (otherwise the regular price is too high for the service offered). The location is great as it is right at the beach. If you get a room towards the other side of the beach, you look at Christ the Redeemer. Breakfast was included and quite good. The staff is... More

The hotel was small and old looking. Staff are nice but some can be rude. Said good afternoon to doorman as we walked in but they ignored us. Was called mr instead of miss (but i guess thats just bad english). The room was a room for 4 people which had a parting in the middle. The room wasn't very... More

This is a nice hotel, with wi-fi and nice staff, but the renovation does not hide that the rooms are quite old. Apart from that, the room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. The room had a double and a single bed. My room did not have a view, but the ones in front were a bit more expensive... More

I spent 12 days in August 2007 in this hotel... It had probably not up-to-date quality standards, but I had a huge suite, with a big balcony just in front of Copacabana beach.. I had down there a nice churrascaria (Carretao) with excellent price/quality ratio... plus the (now) well known Balcony bar, full of every kind of people and late... More

This is the hotel where my awesome time in Brazil began! After a long trip getting there, with a lot of delays. The view from the balcony was breathtaking! After a relaxing night, which was peaceful and very quiet. I woke up, for a stroll on the beach to come back for a nice breakfast with lots of fruit!

Beach front view, awesome scenery, great location, breakfast is excellent!!! (best bacon I've ever had in my life...go for the bacon fellas!), clean, big room. Bathroom is old, but functional. Hotel staff were very friendly, let you check out beach towels. Close to Copacabana Palace. Lots to eat nearby, but stay away from Mabs, which is a restaurant near the... More

I really recommend this hotel. We got a very good package via Expedia and we stayed 8 nights in the Rio Lancaster. Some people warned me that Copacabana (where the hotel is located) is not ver safe and that it is little insecure, well I did not find it that way so I though the location was perfect! also the... If you're on a budget but would like to stay close to the beach, Hotel Rio Lancaster is a good option. They carry your luggage to your room (which is clean!), the staff is friendly and willing to recommend e.g. a beauty salon nearby, and I feel you have privacy there. But! I think you pay for a bit more... More
