Hotel has an excellent location between Kapakabana and Ipanema. It is very convenient. Nearby restaurants, shops. Metro. Rooms are not big, but very clean. Bed comfortable. A delicious and varied breakfast. On the roof of the swimming pool with a beautiful panorama of the city

If you are spending some time in Rio, this hotel is the perfect spot to be. The title would be: LOCATION, LOCATION and LOCATION. Rooms are big and clean. Staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet is amazing, from sweet to sour and exotic fruits. Moreover on the 1st of January we could have had breakfast until 12:00. The hotel... More

Atlantis is perfectly situated between Copacabana and Ipanema. It's a basic hotel with very clean, large rooms and a good breakfast. Wifi was quite good but seemed to drop quite a bit at some point. The staff is quite friendly in a Brazilian way (not overdone). The pool is outdated which is a shame.

Five minutes walk to Ipanema and Copacabana Beach - perfect, Big comfy beds, spotless, terrific breakfast. Nothing fancy room-wise but this is a great little budget gem. Street a bit dark at night, but secure and staff helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend.

The location of this hotel is great both beaches are within five minutes walk and you're surrounded by good restaurants, the rooms are basic and tired, but clean, hotel staff very unfriendly and disinterested!!!! We stayed here for a week on honeymoon as part of a tour but this hotel is only for a one or two night stay. If... More

Two blocks from Copacabana beach. Two blocks from metro to go to city centre. Third floor have no view, but clean and good place to stay. Personnel at front desk speak English. Good breakfast with fruit, bread, decent coffee. Rather leave juice

The Atlantis Copocabana is an excellent location. It is close to the beaches, various restaurants and small grocery stores. The continental breakfast is excellent! Eggs, meats, yogurt, various fruits and breads are available along with juices and coffee. My only criticism was incorrect information was given to us about the walking distance to the Botanical Gardens. It was not 30... More

The hotel is near to Arpoador beach, you only have to cross a small park. The location is also good because you'll be at Copacabana, but right beside Ipanema, both famous neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro. The hotel offers free breakfast which is very rich, you'll find fruits, juices, breads, cheese, ham, cakes, coffee, tea. I stayed at a double... More

Basic hotel but it did meet our needs given we were out most of the time. Looks a little tired/old fashioned & could do with some updating. Breakfast is simple eg bread, jam, yoghurt, cake. Staff are helpful & friendly. Location is amazing.....that's what this hotel is all about. Wifi also better than most hotels we've stayed in, but still... More

We booked this hotel based on it's location between Copacabana and Ipenema. When we arrived at the hotel the reception staff were very attentive and helpful and spoke quite good English. The rooms are basic but the maids come in every day and maintain them. The pool was not very inviting as it was dirty and very small. The breakfast... More

Staying in Ipanema

Neighborhood Profile
Ipanema
Ipanema is considered Rio's crown jewel. It offers the best view of the sunset from Arpoador and is inspiration for the legendary song, “The Girl from Ipanema.” Ipanema is an upscale area, home to many high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue. The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing many art galleries that show contemporary art. There is also a great variety of nightlife in the neighbourhood, which buzzes with many options for every taste.
