We had a beautiful room with a great view of Ipanema. We like the pools and the uncrowded beach. It is an easy 20 minute walk to Ipanema if you want crowds. We ate at the buffet dinner one night and had pizza by the pool the second--a bit expensive, but the food was fine. Too bad the pool closed... More

We liked the position as it was an easy walk down to Ipanema beach. The rooms were spacious, clean and there was a tremendous view of Ipanema and the statue of Christ. The food in the bungalow was terrific but we had a very disappointing buffet on the second night. The staff had placed our tables in such a way... More

This is a mid-tier, worn-down, overpriced tourist hotel from the sixties that should rate three stars and offer rooms for 200usd. Clearly not a status employer, a good half of employees are sub-standard service level, some even do not speak English. Stay out of their restaurants which are horrendous, watch out for room 2505 which is located next to elevator... More

like most hotels in rio, this place is rather overpriced. we paid 330 dollars and didn't feel that this was in appropriate relation to the quality of the hotel. for international standards, the place would rather be a low 4 stars than the 5 stars it flags. the hotel was probably built in the 60s and shows serious signs of... I stayed here already twice and would say it is my favourite in Rio along with Marriott. This one looses on the location, unless you have to be around Leblon, which makes the location acceptable. The vies are just impressive - sleeping with the sound of the sea and waking up to marvelous sun up is priceless. The newly refurbish... More

There on business but I feel I could holiday there. Excellent pool facilities, three pools. Bars and resturants good. Like all hotels in the region expensive. The room I had was very tired. The hotel has been built 25 years and it shows.I was told by a member of staff that major redecoration is planed More

Sheraton has its own beach which was very turbulent when we visited. It was great to watch local kids diving in to the waves and playing football. this was inspiring. We liked the deck with pool and loungers. Very clean and very peaceful We had a very good salad on the deck in a small cafe near the back. Afternoon... More

Excellent hotel, with many aspects of a resort. I have been there 3 times between 2008 and 2011: good rooms & services, excellent breakfast, very good facilities, including a top class gym club. Pity for the location, which is far from everything. If you want to stay in the hotel and enjoy its facilities after some spot visits, good. Otherwise,... More

Great hotel, good service and an amazing view from the windows, you can see Ipanema, a favela and Christ the Redeemer...all in one view. The pool is great, there is always someone to bring food or drink, although there were far too many children....definitely more of a family resort. Food was ok, decor was also ok. The only problem was... More
