I stayed in this hotel in Oct 2009 for 4 nights in total. The location is superb, the view from the hotel balcony is stunning, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the food is excellent and the rooms are bright and clean. The only thing I would fault is the fact that the lifts are small and cramped. more

This hotel was all good. We had an excellent view from our balcony on the 7th floor of the christ and sugar loaf. Also the beach... where it just so happens they celebrated the announcement of winning the olympics. Hotel is fine and great value for money. Room and bathroom absolutely fine, breakfast was really good (Brazillian style) but the hotel location and view from the roof top bar and pool is SENSATIONAL!! The beachfront Porto Bay Hotel, which has recently changed hands, clearly shows the benefit of renewed enthusiasm for excelelence and is the best compromise I have found for value I have in Rio de Janeiro. The crew's hospitality seconds only the prime location and view, whereas the clean and impecable decoration make you feel right at home. more
