Excellent location, less than a block from Ipanema beach. Hotel is less satisfactory. There is a big conference centre - conventioneers are not a great asset when you're holidaying. Breakfast is busy with poor selection. Other meals are oriental and excellent. Staff are typically Brasilian - i.e. friendly yet chaotic. The best thing about Ipanema Plaza is the location. Very close to Ipanema Beach and the ever popular Post 9. Stayed here during christmas and I wasn't disappointed. The location is good, right next to Ipanema beach and all the cafes and restaurants. Rue farme de Amoedo has lots of buzzy bars and cafes to visit. Of course, being in the heart of all this activity means that it can be a bit noisy and probably not good for light... more
