The location is good, 10 minutes walk to subway, close to the supermarket, fast food stores, restaurants. 10 to 15 minutes taxi to Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. The room is clean. The services is good. Especially Fecipe Martins who is in front desk at lower level entrance, he helped us find taxi and tell them where we will... More

We stayed at the Mercure for 4 nights at the back of a 4 week cruise in South America. On first sight you do wonder a little what the Mercure will be like inside as it appears somehow squeezed into a space amongst other buildings. Once inside however it is good! Staff are very friendly and accommodating if not a... More

I am a Platinum Le Club member and I had a terrible experience in this hotel. My room was dirty when I arrived (small nail pieces on the floor) and the service was absolutely disgusting (no attention, bad humoured staff). I have never been so poorly treated in a hotel.

It has been few months since last time I stayed in this hotel and I keep well satisfied by them in general. I like the location, (walking distance to Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas), the room (ask for one with view to Christ Redemptor), the front desk and the restaurant! Again, even being Accor Platinum an upgrade was not offered (third... More

There were so many things wrong with this hotel it would take up a book- so I’ll just list a few reason why I hated staying at this hotel: -Looks nothing like the pictures online. It was smaller and not as polished. -No washcloths given; and even when the cleaning people came to clean, they didn’t replace towels. We had... More

We stayed in 2 different rooms, as we were in 5. Both rooms were clean, comfortable and nice. Location is good but the staff is unable or not prepared to give you the right directions. Easy things like the nearest metro station, or top attractions such as Jardim Botanico or Copacabana Fort become a difficult question. Our check in was... More

The hotel is well located, in a calm location but still lively enough at night that you can walk your way around, including to the nearby metro station. The room we had was very spacious, nice, with an attached kitchen with a cloth washing basin. A small apartment! The reception staff was extremely nice and helpful. And helpful they better... More

Very good! Very good for family or friends. Rooms with kitchen, more than 1 bathroom and bedroom. It is not in a common neighborhood chose by tourist, but there you can find a good fare and you will stay close to Christ, with subway station nearby and will not be expensive if you chose a taxi. I will stay there... More

Mercure RJ Botafogo is ideal for families with children. The apartments are new and well equipped: safe, sink, microwave, minibar, and a service area. The hotel also have pool, playground and a small indoor pool you can use for kids. Hotel is near a shopping, Leme/Copacabana beach (5 minutes in taxi) and public transport (bus/metro). Recommended.

Staying in Botafogo

Neighborhood Profile
Botafogo
In recent years, Botafogo has become one of the hottest neighbourhoods in Rio. It hosts many modern restaurants with contemporary food and many venues to listen to rock and electronic music. Its numerous bars and pubs make this area a great choice for anyone interested in a great nightlife experience - in fact, some bars in the area are open all night. Casa Daros, an art museum that showcases amazing artists from Latin America, is a must see located in a historical building in Botafogo.
