We stayed during the WC in 2014. It had been newly renovated and is a great room - very very large. The bathroom and sleeping areas are great, there's heaps of area to put down your suitcases and bags and hang things up, and wifi works fine. This hotel is perfect for travellers who want some space to unwind. Only... More

We loved this hotel for the location and proximity to the Lappa District (10 minutes walk) and the metro (15 minutes walk). And it was only about a 15-20 minute metro ride to get to Copa Cabana. There were also plenty of shops, markets and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. There was a yummy continental breakfast every morning... More

My husband and I stayed during the confederations cup last june and we were very pleased with the hotel. We knew reading the reviews that this was a motel that has being transformed in an hotel recently to attend World Cup rooms demand and that was not a problem to us. Here in Brazil a Motel is not an awful... More

SNOB Hotel, Rio de Janeiro (Centro) I stayed there in April 2013. A single room at a 160 Reais per night only, breakfast included, which is cheap for this town. The good rate is due to the location in the center (Centro) of Rio, which is about a 45 minute ride from Copacobana. The statistics like to suggest that this... More

We had a very good experience in this hotel. The hotel mangers were very kind to us and gave us suite when they looked at the price we paid at hotel.com. They also took care of our personal needs. And gave us enough time to check out. They also stored out luggage for free.

The Snob Hotel is an independent hotel with 6 floors and 2 elevators, although the elevators serve only the first five floors (keep this in mind if you happen to get a room on the 6th floor, you have to use a staircase). The hotel must have been built sometime in the 1970s, so its infrastructure is somewhat used, but... More

Dear Sir, We've received your review. All the staff from Hotel Snob are very glad to hear that you had a good stay with us. As you comment, some people working in our reception can't speak English. Unfortunately in Brazil is quite difficult to hire somebody that speaks English fluently. Having a 24 hours frontdesk speaking in English is one... More

There were two major pluses. Pedro (the only English speaker in the reception) has been extremely nice. Eg. he volunteered to arrange me to check out late such as 4 pm without problem/charge, when I originally just wanted to leave my bags with them for a few hours. The other aspect was that the Wifi internet has worked well after... More
