Pros: The location of the hotel is very good. There is a very good place to eat right next door, and many other around. We booked a room with 3 beds for 1 night and it was a good size, toiletries provided. Nice views from the roof terrace. Cons: The A/C in the room was not cooling at all. It... More

This quaint little hotel is very good for the price we paid. Very centrally located, close to some very high-end restaurants and also some very reasonable eatery. It is walking distance to the Escadaria Selaron, Church of Our Lady of Candelaria. The buffet breakfast is worth every penny, lots of variety of fruits.

Good: locale, near Metro, Cinlandia parking garage and Lapa, good rate, safer than hotels to the south, rooftop pool with view of Cristo Rendentor and all of Rio, bar at hotel, close to downtown M-Sat shopping, some late night dining within a few blocks, but be aware of your surroundings, one block from the Military Police HQ with visible machine... First the positives - The hotel is in a great location, and the rooms are impeccably cleaned every day. Great views from the 19th Floor. The rest of the hotel would have great views too, if they had the foresight to put in windows! The sauna (technically, it's a steam room, but that was fine with me) works just fine,... More

While the hotel is by no means for those on a budget (nor is it very bohemian or Rio-ish), it has an excellent location for exploring the less-known Rio, aka the urban-non-beach-Rio. It is 2 minutes walk away from Cinelandia subway station, close to the fabulous Lapa neighbourhood (although Cineladia is, in itself, fabulous!). For us it was a great... More

Overall it is a nice hotel and I am very happy I chose the Atlantico when I visited Rio, the hotel has a perfect location if you are planning on using the subway since it is right next to Cinelandia Station, the hotel is located in downtown Rio so you are pretty much in the middle of the city and... The building is a modern structure with up-to-date facilities and is in an ideal location in the city. My room was a bit small but adequate. However, the plumbing did not work that well. Breakfast was sumptuous. The staff was efficient and courteous but not friendly. Charging for wifi was a turnoff. In spite of the negatives, I would recommend... More

We spent two nights in Rio de Janeiro last march and chose this hotel for its location close to our business and the local airport. Rooms were standard rooms with nothing extra, but that was what needed that time. Breakfast was good! Recommended if you have to stay close to Santos Dumont Airport

The first room had an odor of garlic from the hotel kitchen. Got another room, with a bathroom full of insects that were crawling out of the walls. At least, it didn't have any bed bugs.. I hope! Despite the nasty rooms, the location is good. Close to metro stations, restaurants etc. Good breakfast.

In the middle of town center, this hotel is basic confort, but they charges the use of the internet, which is weird nowadays. I would not advise this hotel for tourism, but for business is quite great, as it is close to the main business offices, restaurants, subways (Carioca and Cinelândia stations) and some known places, such as "Arcos da... Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
