I'm rating this property as "very good" based on what I could see about rio hotels in general. This property was relatively quite, clean, roomy, and we had a good view out of the sitting room. The electricity only went out occasionally, and it was never really a problem for us. The elevator occasionally didn't work, but the stairs work... More

Stayed there for 4 nights during the WC. It was by far the most expensive hotel out of 6 in 6 different cities I stayed in during the World Cup and in the same time Diamond hotel was also the worst. The location was what brought me there, as it is located right next to a street with many bars... More

I needed a 10 day stay in Rio which I could use as a base to follow England in the World Cup with my 16 y/o son using internal flights from Rio to get to the matches. Accommodation was difficult to secure in Rio and I chose this hotel via the Tripadvisor website so had a fair idea of what... More

Spend 3 nights in this hotel during World Cup. We had 13 rooms in this hotel and with all of them was some kind of problem. The hotel is old and not taken care off, looked dirty but that was the least of the problems. My room was above the kitchen so as from 0600AM there was so much noise... More

When I booked this hotel I was expecting an average 3 stars hotel, however, this seems more like a 2 stars. When I stayed (March 2013) the hotel staff was very rude and unhelpful. This used to be a "motel", not those in the US but the ones people go to have romantic encounters. And it still remains as such...... More

I have stayed in this hotel on numerous occassions due to its handy access to the centre of Rio. There are always taxis available and buses and the metro are also close as is Santos Dumont airport. Rooms are clean and spacious and those at the front have a nice view. Only downside is the area at night- transvestite heaven.... More

At night the are prostitutes outside the hotel door, the whole place is old and nasty. The two elevator are terrible slow and it's always crowded. The room was big indeed but with a unpleasant décor, the bathroom was nasty! It had mold everywhere, and the toilet was broken. My view was to a parking lot and the surroundings are... More

On arrival, the staff were very friendly, helpful, and understanding. The rooms are exactly like the pictures provided, basically what you see is what you get. The location prefect for tours, from the rooms facing the front of the building you can see sugar loaf mountain and also there is a war memorial at the front as well as a... More

Comfortable and clean up great. Hotel was renovated from its former self. Staying above the 4th floor of preference. Dinner with little variety. Breakfast better and reasonable variety. Hotel well located 5 min from the airport and downtown Rio highest Rooms overlook the Guanabara Bay. I think maybe the attendants could receive more training in customer service and expedite their... Stayed here for 8 nights on business. Great location to get into the central area and Lapa and also down to Copacabana and Ipanema. 2 minutes from the Gloria metro station.Rooms are ok and comfortable but who goes to Rio to sit in a room. COmpared to most prices in Rio it was a bargain and not knowing the city... More
