This is a great hostel, albeit a bit pricey but I think the accommodation, service and location make up for this. Leblon is a nice neighbourhood and the beach is very pretty. It is a lot quieter than Copacabana and even Ipanena which is on the same stretch of beach. The staff are friendly and very eager to help, which... More

I enjoyed my stay in z.bra. It has a fancy little lobby area with cool kitschy decor. The rooms however are very basic. I stayed in a double room first, and a dorm room afterwards. The hostel has a bar and we were allowed to order drinks on out them on our tab during our stay. It's located in leblon,... More

When I arrived at the hostel I found out they wanted to charge me higher than the advertised rate. After some negotiation this was dropped to a price still higher than the advertised rate. The price to stay changes throughout the week. So if you want to stay longer you won't pay The same price every day. The hostel staff... More

Upside: funky design, great location, friendly staff, party every night (it's perfectly fine too for the non-party mode travelers). Downside: bathroom not neat as the day advances, breakfast could be served in a better way (away from the flies), overpriced compared to other hostels worldwide. Yet, worth the visit if you're up to meeting new people and staying 2 blocks... More

Stayed here for a week. Located in "trendy" Leblon only 2 blocks to the beach and a few streets away from shopping thoroughfare. This place is class. The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. Ended up going out on the piss with some of them a few times. There is a board in reception with daily excursions that you can... More

Great spot. Met a ton of good people there. Staff is great too. It's not going to be your cheapest option being it's in Leblon and all, but it's worth it. It's the right hostel for you if you'd like to interact with your fellow travelers and have a fun place to hangout. If you want a place that's super... More

I stayed here back in 2011, everything from the staff to the rooms was amazing, very clean and close to public transport. I have since recommended several people to stay here. We were originally only staying for 4 nights but ended up stay for 7 we loved it so much.

There's a lot to love about Rio, but none more than the Zbra hostel!! There is something very special going on in this place and I am happy to have had the chance to enjoy a taste of it. Starting with Roberta's warm (catlike) welcome into the hostel, to Ryan's (charming) introduction to the nightlife, Zbra provides the perfect base... More
