I was very excited about this hostel as I loved the fact it was nature themed. The view was great and you could see Christ the Redeemer clearly, and on the top floor tiny monkeys would often come down and join you for breakfast. However the rooms were poorly looked after, the floor and wall paint chipping away, no air... More

The room smells sweat and uncleaned sheets, you will have very dirty shared showers even if you take the single room (which is quite pricy btw) and you will hardly sleep if someone decided to make any noise in the corridor... But surprisingly that is not the worst part of this hostel: the service is surreal. Just an example: we... More

Spent NYE there - worst hostel I have ever been too. Dirty, ridiculously sweaty, horrible staff ( couldn't speak Portuguese nor English properly), no water (for drinking or showering) and ridiculously overpriced for what it is - only plus is the location. WOULD DEF NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NOT RETURN.

Normally I wouldn't give such a lengthy story but this takes the cake for us! My husband and I booked this a year prior to carnival under the advice of friends who said that if we didn't book SOMETHING as early as possible than we wouldn't get anything. Come carnival time we found this not to be the case as... More

Do not go there. There are many other hostels in the same price range. The place smells soooo bad, the bathrooms are disgusting, the staff unfriendly, the rooms dirty and soooo noisy. It was the worst night of our whole trip. Do not pay upfront. We only stayed one night! Horrible!!! Do not believe the photos or good reviews.

We chose this hostel for Rio because it was the cheapest. We had not expectations and we´re glad of that. It was easy to get to from the airport and close to the city buses at the shopping center. The breakfast is not half bad- you get bread, fruit and coffee/juice (with a nice view!) The hostel itself was disgusting.... More

Rio Nature Hostel may be a great choice if you overlook certain details and generally don't look for luxury but instead for some place "special". We stayed for 2 weeks and compared to other hostels in Rio in this price ranged, we vere happy in general. Highlights: - the view (awesome scenery of Rio, set in a hill overlooking Botafogo... More

Location is pretty good, except its up a hill with so mans stairs. The cleanliness isn't great, the rooms basic as hell but the staff speak English ad are helpful. Pretty cheap, and you get what you pay for. The view from the top is nice.

This was an awful place to stay. The rooms were dirty (no air-conditioning) and the beds very uncomfortable. The restrooms are disgusting-there aren't words to describe how bad they are. We had a private room but it didn't seem to matter-the hostel was incredibly loud (huge party in the room next year) and we didn't sleep at all. The breakfast... More

Dirty, poorly maintained, unprofessional service. The location (in a hill, among trees) is fantastic, but simply doesn't worth it. The restrooms are disgusting and rooms are plenty of dust (noticeably they don't clean it for months). The private rooms offer balcony's view. But balcony is also the common and breakfast area, so be prepared to "sleep" with no privacy (even... More
