We stayed here in august 2014 the furnishings in the room were very dated and not very comfortable, but the position and service was very good.wifi good.breakfast very good.staff spoke English and we're friendly and helpful. It is walking distance to Flamengo beach which although is not good for swimming is great for jogging ,volleyball and other activities .also metro 2mins... More

We arrived in Rio after a long trip and were disappointed we only had single beds. However after a chat with the Manager all was quickly solved - this was just one example of the quality service. The front desk were really helpful and all the staff great at this family friendly Hotel. The location is away from some "must... More

No near Copacabana but then not all hotels are and this is a safe area with a good atmosphere. Ideal for the metro and trips to Cristo Redentor. Not sure why the restaurant has to be shrouded behind vast curtains which hardly makes it welcoming and presumably why few people eat in what is a good restaurant. Some more useful... More

Compare to other hotels in Rio, you can name this hotel as 4 star but in fact it's a real 3 star hotel. The bad thing for this accommodation is long distance to Copocabana beach. But the good thing is very close distance to some public buses that take care of transportation to Corcovado. Some staffs can speak few English... More

Just come back from Brazil after spending the last 5 nights in Rio for the World Cup: Pros: Location is great as there is a metro near by: Largo Do Marchado, so this saves time moving around when the traffix is busy. Taxi to Copacabana/Lappa/Sugar Loaf 15-20real in a taxi (or less) Can get in the same square fully inclusive... More

Very reasonable priced hotel in a lively and busy neighborhood. Conveniently located near a metro stop. Don't even dream of taking the metro around 18.00, it is too busy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Far from glitzy Copacabana and Ipanema, Flamengo is the place to be. Good restaurants nearby. From the terrace you get a view Very good view of... More

This is NOT a 4 stars hotel; it deserves 3. The hotel consists in 2 connected old buildings, with many dark rooms that only have one tiny window. Some of those rooms are close to the air conditionning machines and, consecuently, are very noisy. Tiny lobby and an interior waiting room. Bellboys are helpful, reception staff not so much. Good value (for Rio) clean rooms, twin room on 8th floor at front of Hotel offered a view of "Christo" and is lit up at night. Great Breakfast with great breakfast staff that are constantly refreshing the breakfast buffet and have welcoming smiles even at 7am. I liked the location as it is on a normal high street with handy... More
