Never book this hotel- better live in favela Rocinha than here.In fact there is no breakfast, no hot water, the windows in the rooms are very small just like a prison, not a wardrobe in the room, very high humidity and no air conditioning.

We chose this place for the location and for the price. Location is indeed ok, although location-wise there are better options even within the same price range. However, as the city was packed with tourists at the time, we didn't have that many options. We've slept in budget hotels before, we aren't that demanding when it's just about getting a... More

There aren't words for this place. Rio is a wonderful place but its not the cleanest. That said there is no excuse for this place. I really think it needs to be closed & torched as there is no hope. The only thing going for it is the location. Absolute muck & filth in the rooms, cold showers despite moving... More

After reading the reviews we were apprehensive about staying at Hotel Laranjeiras so I guess our expectations were low. However, the receptionist was nice enough at checkin and we got to our room and was pleasantly surprised. Renovated bathroom and room complete with a private balcony and a small LCD TV with cable. AC works well and the bed seemed... More

I booked a room in advance for 3 nights at this hotel. I was attending a conference in Niteroi so I thought that by being closer to downtown, it was going to be more convenient for me to transport there. I wasn't expecting anything spectacular, but at least a room with the basic stuff. Well, the bed did not have... More
