We arrived in Rio de Janerio in late November 2013- a big group of pale, freckly Irish tourists in a foreign county for a family wedding! What can I say about Baron Garden- they did absolutely everything to make us feel comfortable and relaxed in this strange but beautiful place. Being a large group of 10 who took up 3... More

We stayed in the 8 person room for 4 nights during the World Cup. It consists of 4 bunk beds with a shared bathroom down the hall and another downstairs. It was comfortable enough. There is AC and there is a locked cabinet for each person staying in the room. We met some really nice people sharing the room with... More

The hostel has a locked gate and there was a neighborhood watch type thing at night when walking through the neighborhood. It's near the metro, but it is a long windy hike up a hill. It's still a pretty walk up and down the hill and once you're down the hill there is quite a bit of stuff nearby. We... More

This guest house is the perfect place to visit Rio. Very nice people and nice room. The breakfast is so good. The pool and the garden are perfect to chill after a day of walk in the town. I totally recommend this place!

We stayed here for 11 nights feb-march 2014 for carnival. Maria is lovely and very welcoming. The place is clean and the big kitchen has loads of space for your food and room to cook. The place is an old fashioned villa. It could use some modernisation but the traditional features are very attractive. The pool is great after climbing... More

I stayed with my family (2 girls 8 and 5 years old) for 17 days in february and again for the carnival. The colonial house is beautiful and we all loved the (hot) pool, the garden with fish, dogs, turtle and sometimes wild monkeys. The house is big. Lots of space to play, relax, read and paint and even though... More

Baron Garden is great located on a hill of Rio next to two Metro Station. The reception is welcoming and I felt immediately good with the others residents. So a place which can be advised to visit Rio quiet and likely.
