Sadly Hotel Granada is in "centro"- a run down slightly out of the way area of Rio What they lack in location, they certainly make up with value for money and EXCELLANT service 9:00 am checkin - no problem 14:00 checkout - no problem Room change - no problem Every inquiry given gladly supported with printouts etc Despite the location... Good choice, minutes from domestic SDU airport and downtown, at the heart of bohemian Lapa surroundings. Convenient compact1q swimming pool and academy at the top floor with no one to bring you towels ot drinks. Noisy and ineffective air conditioning at the room.

There is a lot to like about the Hotel Granada, despite its location in an allegedly unsafe neighbourhood. Firstly, the hotel staff was helpful, friendly and spoke English. Secondly, our spacious superior room featured a separate lounge area, which allowed plenty of space to relax in. Thirdly, the luxurious bed was the most comfortable that I have ever slept in,... The electronic key to our door didn't work. We checked in very late so thought we'd leave it till morning to sort it out . It wasn't ever fixed so each time we went out we had to wait at reception until they found the device and a spare person to open the door. Staff at front counter answer the... More

Dear Perth, It is a pleasure answering you and I have good news. 1 - The doors are working properly. I know exactly how you felt when you tried many times simply enter the room door and you couldn't. I apologize! 2 - You are completely right, when you said for you it was rude the front desk person answering... More

I stayed in Granada Hotel in Rio during the World Cup in June 2014. The hotel location is good as it's close to a number of historical sights, but not to the beach, it took me approximately 15-20 minutes to get to Copa Cabana by taxi. The room was ok, clean and comfortable, but still small. Everything in the room... More

We have just stayed at the Granada for 3 days as part of a south american tour. This hotel was fine for what we needed. It was modern, clean, decent showers, good breakfasts and friendly staff. It was noisy (but that's Rio for you) and it could do with better air con in the rooms.nice rooftop bar; small (very) pool... More

Stayed for a couple of days.was a big mistake. Lots of prostitutes and drugs outside.almost no police presence, they were possibly scared. Internet hardly working, so the staff and the waiters.... Much too expensive for what it (not) offers. Very decrepit, seedy and shabby area. I thought it was closer to avenida rio brnco but no....only the lapa arches with notorious... More

The staff at this hotel simply do not care at all about their guests. Not at all. It is also getting quite worn and tatty at the edges with need for a face-lift. It seems to sell it itself as a trendy city centre hotel but it really doesn't make the grade. Plus points are: New roof top area with... More

The hotel itself is ok, the rooms are clean and mine had a view of the "Christ the Redeemer" statue. However, the attitude of the check in clerk, Ivan, was obnoxious to say the least in spite of my family and I taking three rooms on the world cup final night (almost ten times the normal rate!). On the plus... More

This is a nice hotel, recently renovated, with a modern appeal. Rooms are quite big, clean, and comfortable. Bathroom is also really nice (no bathtub), spacious, and clean. Hotel staff is helpful, friendly, and professional. There's not many restaurant options around the hotel, but there's one good almost in front of it. Hotel also has restaurant for a reasonable price.... More
