We stayed at Hotel Flamengo Palace during the World Cup and the hotel was quite ok. Once this was probably a quite fancy hotel. Nowadays it´s an ok 3* that has seen it´s best days but is still an option to stay at. Since we stayed here during the World Cup when all the prices on accommodation in Rio skyrocketed... More

This hotel had the most beautiful panorama of the Rio de Janeiro Bay with a nice view of the Sugar Loaf. It was very near the subway to get to the World Cup matches, and the price was just the same of all other hotels in the region. My stay was perfect, the Brazilian servers are very very nice and... The price during WC-2014 was extremely high for this very frugal hotel. The rooms even not equiped with a table. No shampoo in shower-room. The breakfast is too simple, no variety of dishes at all. The only plus is good location (safe place near the beach, subway station etc)

The property is perfectly located for who ever is looking to go to Rio business area, is near Lapa and close the major companies offices. In the surroundings you can find restaurants and in a short walk encounter bars and the metro.

We chose this hotel for its location and sea view. As suggested by previous reviews, we requested a room on higher level and we were given one on the 12th floor. We arrived on Thursday midnight, as soon as we walked in our room, we could hear the loud music and cheering coming from the football fields across the road,... More

you pay around 270 Rs for a boring room in a boring hotel with a boring restaurant, with (how could it be else) a mediocre service. Similarly, boring rooms on the front with sea-view are even more expensive...

The hotel is clean and not a bad location, as with everything else in Rio....seriously overpriced! Room was clean and breakfast was good. I am sure there are other places to stay at a better price, but if you are stuck for a place to stay you could do much worse.

I was due to meet up with a business colleague in Rio - and as he had already booked himself into this hotel - I decided to stay in this hotel as well. I tried to make the booking using the hotel's website, but it was in Portuguese. So I phoned the hotel directly and spoke to Manuel - who... More
