Despite what I´ve read here in trip advisor before arriveing there, the hotel is good enough to vacation and business. In front of the sea, counting with a wonderful sight of Barra beach, a peaceful place, with white sand and worming wind, the hotel´ staff were very kindly in all my demands, and have shown a high level of hospitailty.... The position of this hotel is great, if you want to stay in Rio far from the chaotic Copacabana. The beach of Barra is very beautiful, and this is the place to do kitesurfing in Rio. The hotel is not bad, for the standard of Rio (very expensive with just sufficient quality). We also tried the restaurant and it was... More

I must begging by saying that my room had a great view, however it was down hill from the start. The check in and check out were uneventful although the staff seemed to be doing me a favor. The room a tad dreary but was OK, it could use some more effort to maintain it clean and make it welcoming.... More

A few hours ago I left this miserable hotel where everything that can be done wrong was done wrong. The Presidential suite we stayed in was a joke, apart from the great views. There was not even a complimentary bottle of water in the most expensive room in a four star hotel. We had to complain on a daily basis... More

If you are looking for a convenient location near the Riocentro exposition area and a nice, relaxing beach for jogging, this is the hotel to choose. Located in front of the beach at the more recently developed "Barra da Tijuca", the hotel space is generous, from lobby to rooms. The staff is professional and discrete, but ready to help you... I stayed in this hotel with several colleagues during a recent conference. The hotel is quite convenient for Rio Centro and is located on the beach (like majority of Rio hotels anyway) and there is an adjacent street with good food and drinking establishments. That is where the goodness of staying here ends. The hotel is worn and old in... More

Bit of a concrete jungle with little or no atmosphere to the hotel. Rooms dated with antiquated plumbing and smelly air conditioning. About 50% of the staff try to be helpful, the remainder are surly and inattentive. Breakfast bland and repetitive. No real hotel bar to talk about but the saving grace is the main road just 50 metres to... More

For the amount of money you have to pay here you don't get any value. The only thing that might be good is the location. The rest is useless. The check in takes too long time. We were 7 people eating lunch in the restaurant. eating might be the wrong word, waiting is more correct. In the restaurant nothing worked.... More

Comfortable rooms, friendly staff and great location on beach. Ask for a sea view - spectacular! Traffic in Rio is diabolical so if you want to go downtown/Cocacobana be aware it takes a long time, on plus side taxis are cheap. Area very safe unlike downtown so you can stroll on beach without fear of mugging.

I stayed at the "royalty" for seven days during the same time as the Rio+20 conference. The UN conference was dealing with some of the worlds major challenges. Management at this hotel should start dealing with the hotels major challenges. And there is plenty to work on ! Cleanliness of rooms and premises, service and staff attitude, quality of food...
