First I will say that the room was ample and the AC worked, on that front I cannot complain. Everything was basic but functional and comfortable. The address is one a taxista will need GPS to find and the streets in the neighborhood are not convenient. Despite its proximity to many things in Rio, I would not consider the location... More

Everything about this place is perfect. Located in the quaint old quarter of Saint Theresa, there is a multitude of bars and restaurants situated close to the hotel which are worth experiencing. The staff at this hotel could not be friendlier, they are helpful, insightful, and all approach their customers with a friendly attitude. Lastly, the facilities resemble those of... More

We spent a wonderful week at Villa Laurinda. The colonial building with swimming pool and garden is very charming. All the staff was very very nice with us. Breakfast on the shadowy terrace was a marvellous begin of the day. Santa Teresa is one of the more fascinating part of Rio.

Wonderful and relaxing stay in a super quiet area of Rio. Everyone was very accommodating and kind. A bit of a climb to get to the subway but if you want to stay fit - it's perfect. We will be back for sure!

A wonderful mansion, cozy, tasteful decor and the best: a stunning quiet. Pool, garden area, a great breakfast, exclusive service. Very well located within the traditional neighborhood Santa Tereza. Anyway, all the best !!! Some rooms have shared bathroom.

A lovely week at Villa Laurinda. The staff were fantastic, Cleiton and Freddie really went out of their way with recommendations for eating, getting us tickets for the Saturday evening of the carnival, how to get to a quiet beach and much more. The staff at breakfast and others were also lovely. Thank you all for a lovely stay. The... More

Such a nice villa, very friendly owner and stuff, everybody is so helpful. Rich breakfast on the open terass overlooking the beautiful garden with its flowers, trees and pool. We had a big room with plenty of space for the babycrib and for the baby to play in the room. Santa Teresa is a lovely place in rio, by taxi... More

This is a great place to stay just a short walk from Santa Teresa, which is a vibrant street with great places up eat and soak up the bohemian vibe. The people who run the villa are great. There was a problem settling our bill but the people were very trustworthy to leave our details to pay the next day.... More

This is a lovely B+B. Clayton was there to greet us and his English is very good! We had the room for 3 people with private bath and it was quite roomy. The beds were kind of hard (hubby like that) and the bathroom was large and nicely upgraded! There are no toiletries so bring your own. No Tv...don't need... More

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
