What a wonderful B&B away from the noisy Copacabana e Ipanema beaches. This place has everything a big chain hotel in Rio can offer but the rooms are much bigger and it's less than 5 minutes taxi ride from the bohemian district of Lapa. Providing nothing has changed since my stay in Jan 2010, I highly recommend Um Meia Tres.... More

Room and common areas were clean and nicely decorated. The pool is a nice place to relax and see the city. Staff was pleasant, if not delightful. Would recommend with the following notes. The breakfast is good, but pretty light. There is a lot of stairs at the B&B and it is on the top of a big hill, so... More

Travelled to Brazil for the Confederations Cup. First stop was Rio. Blown away by finally making the Maracana at last and blown away by Um Meia Tres as well. Bill and Sue were fantastic hosts. Room was excellent as was the breakfast. Monkeys on the balcony enhanced our mornings. View is superb. Lovely walk down to Gloria metro. Excellent (though... More

Chose this marvellous bed and breakfast (pousada) on the basis of other traveller's recommendations and their website. Can only reinforce everything they say : perfect location in a in a beautiful residential area, rooms with terrace with a view to the bay and Rio , lovely common areas and more than anything, the most helpful and friendly hosts, Bill and... What more could you ask for! We really enjoyed our stay at Um Meia Tres. Santa Teresa is so much more fun than the rather bland Copacabana and Ipanema. Really good restaurants close by, short walk to the bus, bit longer to the metro but all downhill (get a taxi back as the hills are very steep!) Near to Lapa,... More

What a great place to stay! My wife and I stayed at Um Meia Tres and we felt welcome from start to finish. Very good location within Santa Teresa and is a 5 minute walk from the bars and shops. Our bedroom was clean, tidy and had amazing views of the city! Bill and Sue are excellent hosts and have... More

After a long flight, we arrived late at night to a very warm welcome from Bill who presented us with a cold beers at the bar. Throughout our time there, our hosts were on hand to answer our questions about everything about local attractions, local customs, safety and transport. There were maps and guidebooks for us to use too. Located... More

Sue and Bill - thank you for a lovely stay. After finishing an 8 day work event where I stayed at a 5* corporate hotel on Copacabana beach, Um Meia Tres was like a breath of fresh air. If you are looking to discover the authentic, charming side of Rio then Santa Teresa is a lovely location to do so.... More
