My husband and I stayed in the Cozy Corner for 4 nights. The place is convenient , but for some reason nobody mentions that it is unbelievably noisy! It's like sleeping in the middle of a very busy intersection. The noise was so intense that the first time in my life I had to sleep with ear plugs! Also the... more

In my opinion the Rio Dolphin Inn deserves all the success it can handle. The owners are warm, friendly and totally genuine ... some of the finest people we have had the pleasure of meeting. The accommodation is outstanding and their Location is ideal. We were in Rio for five very memorable days and the success of our Rio vacation... more

Staying at the Rio Dolphin Inn's 'Cozy Corner' felt like we had charming, beach-y pied-a-terre in Rio. The location was fantastic because the Inn is where Copacabana and Ipanema meet. John & Nina were wonderful; it felt like having family friends right around the corner to help point out the way around the city. Safe, friendly, charming - all in... more

We would fully endorse all of the other positive reviews and recommendations here. We stayed in the "Cozy Corner", a self-contained apartment directly between Ipanema and Copacabana (about a 5 minute walk to each beach and 200 yards from the main house of the B&B). It was spacious, comfortable and clean and a great base for exploring the vicinity. If... more

We stayed in the "cozy corner" which is essentially your own apartment in a superb location being so close to the beaches (the hippy market on a sunday is 2 minutes walk away and a must see) charmingly decorated, with your own bathroom and kitchen, living room and bedroom. Upon arrival John and Nina took us on a walking tour... more

There is not much i can add to the glowing reviews that hasn't already been said. I can only emphasise how helpful John and Nina are in trying to make your stay in Rio as enjoyable as it can possibly be. The location is safe and it's right in the heart or Ipanema and only two minutes from Copacobana and... more

Jul 10, 2009 | Trip type: Family

My family of five (including three daughters, aged 18 through 23) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at John & Nina's eclectic Inn! I was in a bit of a mad scramble to make arrangements only a few days before leaving home. You may know how it is: your family's relying on you to have it all figured out, and, um, you... more

We arrived in Rio exhausted and in the midst of a rainstorm and checked in to our original hotel in a bad mood. We decided to find another place to stay and by word of mouth we heard about the Rio Dolphin Inn, once we arrived it was like being completely reintroduced to the city. John and Nina gave us... more

Staying at the Rio Dolphin Inn is like staying with old friends. John and Nina welcome you into their home and into their confidence. Far from being either an anonymous hotel, or even a hostel, the Inn provides a level of intimacy and privacy that cannot easily be found. The guest is welcome to enjoy all that their home has... more
