The hotel is a beautifully renovated coffee plantation house. I loved the historic details inside like the brick walls and wooden staircase, and the hardwood floors and old fashioned windows in the room. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and the complementary flip flops was a nice touch. We enjoyed the grounds (despite the fact that they were preparing... More

My partner and I were living in Rio for 6 months for business. The city can really grind on you after awhile. Whenever we were feeling the heaviness and frustration of Rio we would stay a weekend at Hotel Santa Teresa. It always rejuvenated and re-energized us tremendously. It is absolutely top quality especially compared to the other offerings in... More

Rio de Janeiro’s newest Design Concept Hotel is in a former historical coffee plantation mansion, located in the trendy Santa Teresa with great views overlooking Rio. Our room was compact but had enough space for a slender work desk and bench at the foot of the bed. The bathroom was open concept to the room with one sink, a large... More

Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a two centre holiday, with Ipanema our first stop. This is a great idea for a holiday as the two areas of Rio are totally different. We had a GF Junior Suite complete with hammock which was modern, very well appointed and stylish as is the hotel throughout. The restaurant is lovely... More

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our Brazil trip. We arranged private transfer with hotel from airport which all went smoothly. Staff were very friendly and helpful at reception and spoke very good english. We had booked mountain view suite room which was great. No bath, but big double shower. I was really impressed by the... A fabulous hotel of absolute luxury. Beautiful views over Rio from the pool bar, very romantic. Fantastic rooms - we were upgraded to a suite and it was lovely. Extremely helpful staff. Great location for the buzz of Santa Teresa. Wonderful.

I must say that things have improved greatly since our disappointing honeymoon stay in December. The hotel management responded to our disappointing review in Trip Advisor with a free stay. We took them up, and it was wonderful. The suite we had was airy and bright, with an amazing view of Santa Teresa and the Corcovado Christ statue. There was... More

After you are done with the beaches of Ipanema and Leblon (an obvious destination when in Rio) you must come and do a few days here in the hills of Santa Teresa at this exquisite hotel. We had been up north in Trancoso for a week (also incredible) and then had a week in Rio to enjoy the beaches and... More

We loved our stay at Santa Teresa. The hotel is rustic and gorgeous. The room was beautiful (and we had the base level room). The bed and sheets was one of the most comfortable we have every slept in. The service was excellent as well. Highlights: The spa - amazing massage! Dinner at Tereze - the white bean soup, a... More

Having stayed down on the main beaches before this was a wonderful find with its colonial arty blend and a view across Rio that you could spend hours looking out at. Infact that view was the reason for several extra drinks at the pool side bar as one watched the lights come on as dusk takes hold. Delicious food though... More

The Hotel Santa Teresa, new 5 star boutique hotel spa and the only Relais & Chateaux of the city, is a former colonial ranch located in the heart of the historic district of Rio de Janeiro. The Hotel features the best views of the city, the harbor and the famous bay of Rio. Decoration tropical ethic design was inspired by the African Indigenous roots of the North and East of Brazil, by the great times of coffee and sugarcane. The burnt cement, the lime stones, the golden slates, the tropical woods and the banana tree fibers are being mixed with the contemporary design of artists Sergio Rodrigues, Zemog or Oficina de Agosto. In the hotel's tropical gardens, the 25-meter long polish green slate swimming pool offers unique panoramic views over Rio de Janeiro. With a natural yet luxurious and unique environment, the Spa features beauty and corporal relaxation treatments of the Amazonian brand of Natura. For the gastronomes, the restaurant Térèze, with an industrial wood, linen and steel design is frequented by the high society of Cariocas and offers the best of French cuisine with a Brazilian flair, created by our Chef Damien Montecer. Hotel is close to all attractions such as Christ redeemer Corcovado, Lapa Nightlife, Sugar Loaf, historic center, museums and famous beach of Copacabana. Not to be missed! ... more   less
