We loved our stay at Casa Amerelo, a stylish and charming Villa on the Santa Teresa hillside. The staff was super helpful and accommodating, and the house evokes old world atmosphere. It made for a lovely retreat after a day on our feet in the heat. We felt right at home, sipping wine with other guests in the living area... More

Of course, you could call it bad luck, but when I arrived in 7:30pm from a 20-hour journey, there was no water in the hotel (until 6:10am the next morning) and 30 minutes later the hotel (and the whole area around) was left without internet connection too - until next evening. Unbelievably bad experience in that sense... Adding the really... More

Dear Cliente, We really apologize for the inconvenience. However, the water cut and wireless connection drop are exceptional and were not our responsibility. Despite of these unfortunate hazards, we pay special attention and care to the services and comfort offered to our guests. Sincerely, Casa Amarelo More

Staying here you would never guess that you're two streets away from Rio's liveliest clubbing in Lapa. The suites are spacious and beautifully decorated, maintaining much of the old world charm. The lounge areas offer many peaceful options for reading or contemplating spectacular views. Staff are friendly and efficient, the service surpasses my experiences at some of the top 4... More

The hotel is an amazing place to stay in. Big cosy rooms, all very charming decorated. The location is just perfect for a stay in Rio. The staff went all the way to make us feel at home. We had some trouble with our rented car and the staff spent hours on there own time to help us... We cannot... More

The highlight of our two week trip to brasil was the three days spent at this hidden gem of a hotel. The house is a historical marvel, the food is excellent, the rooms are great and the pool is perfect. The service is relaxed and time moves slowly here - shift down a gear to enjoy your stay.

Casa Amarelo is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed. I and my husband visited Rio in 2012 and we stayed in Casa Amarelo. The place is beautiful, the rooms are extraordinary, the hotel is very stylish and people are very kind. The only disadvantage was that the staff did not speak english only the hotel manager,... Wonderful little home hidden in Santa Teresa. Walking distance to Lapa area for dinner and shopping. Wonderful staff... breakfast delicious! Small and quaint, so not a lot of guest "noise". Perfect for a couple get-away.

We have stayed a couple times in this unique romantic place. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The kitchen staff are sweet and they do a great job. The only down side is the managment. Their price for drinks, breakfast and extras are way too much for what you get. Also, you are nit allowed to use the facilities once... More

Our stay at the Casa Amarelo could have only been better if it had been longer! Such a beautiful and charming home with breathtaking views of the city from the house, gardens, and the pool. Beautifully decorated and appointed rooms with original designs. Our stay was topped off with the excellent staff, who were most helpful, gracious and made us... More

We greatly enjoyed our time at Casa Amarelo. It felt much more like staying in an old home. It's not for everyone (as evidenced by some of the negative reviews), but for us quite charming, quirky and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting up at the pool sipping a Cachça while watching the birds, riding the old elevator up to our room,... More
