This is the worst hostel i have known. Everything about it is bad apart from the guests and they are lucky the guests stay nice. Where to start? Well the welcoming, there is no welcoming at all, they don't even look at you, just ask you to pay at arrival. Then the rooms, they are so small, it smells so... More

I have stayed here twice, once in September 2011 and again in December 2014. I really liked it the first time, hence choosing to stay again when I was back in Rio three years on. Sadly I was not so impressed this time. The staff lacked knowledge about the check in procedure which resulted in me having to make several... More

We have been travelling and staying in hostels for 3 months and have never felt the need to complain until now. It really is the worst hostel ever. The staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful and even ignore you when asked a direct question. Especially adriana on nightshift, who had no professionalism whatsoever. The room was crawling with ants and... More

I visited this hostel twice. At the end of july for 4 days and and the beginning of September for 3 days. The positives about this hostel is the location. The location is amazing so close to the beach. And also they have a hostel party everyweek which is nice. The rooms are clean. Most of the staff are very... More

My friend and I stayed here during the world cup for 11 days. Granted it was a busy time for the hostel and the city, but we went to several other cities in Brazil at the same time and the hostels there were great. This one was just a scam. They charged us $125 USD a night and made us... More

if you like sleeping. This place is a nightclub for two days of the week and the music goes on until 4am. My bedroom door was vibrating, which was annoying as I was getting up at 7am to go on the day trip to Ilha Grande. The trip didn't even go to Ilha Grande, but some surrounding islands. Wifi is... We didn't stay at this hostel, but the friendly women at the desk helped us when we needed some assistance. This was much appreciated, because she could have easily refused to help us as we weren't actual guests.

We left a really terrible hostel and went to this one. Compared to the other hostel this one was heaven! The staff were helpful and friendly, the bathrooms and rooms were clean and airconditioned. I can also recommend the tours they offer! It was excellent and great value for money. The hostel has a perfect location. Close to the beach,... More

The rooms of the hostel are not in a single building, so in order to use wifi, I had to keep going down to he main office. Some points: They overcharge a bit for drinks in their bar. They have a rooftop mini pool that doesn't close. It's difficult to meet people in the hostel unless you're in the same... More

Going to Rio de Janeiro was already the bomb! After spending a week in Sao Paulo, coming to a relaxing place close to the famous Copacabana beach and in distance to the bus station was definitely a positive. Although the hostel wasn't the most luxurious, it provided the necessities- a clean room, outside space, bathrooms, breakfast, and a friendly staff.... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
