This Hotel is located on Riachuelo street, a ugly, crowded and stinky street of downtown, but these adjectives are a common sense for Rio de Janeiro downtown. Meanwhile is very quiet after 20:00 and will provide a good night's sleep. The room has a good size and is simple but comfortable. The bathroom has a really good size, hair dryer... More

A 3 stars hotel located in crowds area the room size is good for 3* hotel but the amount you pay is too much comparing with the services not good for business trip in fact during the day it is ok but after midnight it is dangerous area full of drunks and not safe the breakfast is the same every... It starts at the front desk, the staff treats you like you're asking to stay there as a favor. The rooms are small and smell like mold, not very clean also. The quality of what is served on the breakfast buffet is very poor, specially the juices. It's located on a busy street and there isn't any kind of noise... More

It was a business trip. Hotel has small but clean rooms. I was not happy with the size of the rooms. Rooms have noise from the road. The only advantage was that it was closer to the city center and that the supermarkets were closer to this place. Other than that I could not find any thing good. TV was... More

I`ve been at Monte Alegre for two weeks - went to Rio to work. The hotel is nice, the food is good. The wifi internet access is very poor on some rooms but ok on others appartments. As a cautios person I had a net wire with me and the internet connection by cable was ok. The rooms are pretty... More

Stay here for 5 days by travel agency when we first visited Rio. It is located in busy street, not very tourist friendly neighborhood and maybe kind of noisy in Centro. Easy access for daily needs, like market and restaurants with great price. Serve with great breakfast. Staffs speak little English but can communicate without problem. Don't book tour or... More

Stayed here for 5 nights as part of a carnival package. The hotel is pretty big, and consists of 2 different buildings and has a courtyard with a small pool. Our room was spacious, beds comfy and spotless clean (we were in the "back building"). The reception staff spoke only a little bit of English, but were helpful regarding busses.... More

Stayed here several times while in Rio as part of my job in tourism. Have to say that I find it very good with friendly staff (not many english speakers amongst them though), great breakfast, a small outdoor pool area and very close to the action if you are in Rio for Carnival. Also, for getting around the city, buses... More

Clean and tidy hotel with good sized rooms and all mod-cons. Main downside for us was the noise! Massive air-con unit right outside on our balcony-and wasn't even our unit. Unable to sleep through the noise, staff not really interested and unable to move us. Would have been awful if my husband hadnt found the external off switch....resulted in better... More

Just spend 2 weeks at this hotel, and rate it as good. Rooms are very clean, and breakfast is terrific. Staff at desk were a bit reserved and not exactly effusive, but they were polite and efficient. I changed rooms twice (!) first time because my room was too close to rua Monte Alegre, which runs up the side of... More
