A marvelous set up and architecture on the imperial city of Petropolis, very close to Rio de Janeiro! Outstanding service, rooms on the second floor are good, even though with a bit of a (very light...) mould smell. Restaurant is also very good but a little pricey for the gastronomy provided... Had a tough-on-the-teeth magret de canard that I certainly... More

This is a true palace, built for and occupied by a royal princess, a daughter of Dom Pedro. It is all white and lies within a gated garden with a fish pond in front. We slept in the princess's bedroom, a large high-ceilinged corner room on the main floor. I did wonder where the princess kept her gowns. The closet was... More

What a fantastic place to stay. I would any day return. Fantastic breakfast, lunch and dinner. Nice big rooms and beds - really nice garden and outdoor area. I really got the post-royal-feeling visiting this fine place

Fantastic one night stay at this hotel. Rooms were large with high ceilings, bed was king size and very comfortable. Grounds were very nice and the service was great. Breakfast in bed is included in the price and they will bring whatever you want. Fantastic. Wifi in the rooms very good. Location is in centre and close to the Bohemia... More

I stayed for 6 nights on business. I was initially assigned a ground floor room which backs the street. The ground floor rooms are damp and noisy and should be avoided if possible. I requested a room on the second floor and was given a very nice room next to the courtyard. The heating unit is quite noisy and the... More

I've Stayed here over the years and have noticed they are starting to go beyond their established price point. It's a beautiful classic hotel that is missing many modern basic conveniences including WiFi, dependable pluming and a very outdated health club that which has two residential tried mills. Lower your rates or make some big upgrades...

Dear Sir , fully appreciate your kind comments on our service and value. Although we are ranked in trip advisor and other websites as the top hotel in the centre of Petrópolis , our prices are kept in average of other hotels of same location. However , there are obvious improvements to be made .We also take good care to... More

At a historical property, the scenery is great , and the location also. Avoid the basement rooms with carpet floor, smells humidity. And the front rooms can be noisy at weekends. The pools are really tiny. I think is overpriced for what is offered.

I love my visit at Solar do Imperio. Rooms are very comfortable. Staff is kind and helpful. As soon as we got there, we were hosted by a friendly lady called Terezinha who told us the history of the hotel plus what the city could offer us. The restaurant experience was awesome! Great desserts and delicious meals well prepared. A... More

This hotel matches it's surroundings perfectly. Location is quiet, beautiful front garden, great valet service. Room is old and stately. Felt like royalty! Breakfast was great and food at restaurant was excellent too!
