I’ve lost the count of how many times I have visited Paraty. However, it is my first time at this lovely pousada da Marquesa. It is very similar to the pousada Pardieiro in the same city. The photos on the pousada's website do not do the place justice. The decor in the rooms and throughout the pousada is simple, tasteful, and soothing. The dark wood and antiques are wonderful. We stayed at this hotel recently and found it to be quite a charming place. Our room overlooked the main square (which was both a positive and a negative!) The ceiling was at least 12 feet (if not more) with an old chandelier in the center. There was a lovely wardrobe, small tv and minibar in the room as well.... more
