I've stayed alone in this hidden boutique hotel for few nights last january. Most probably I am not the only one saying this, but the location right by the Ferradura Bay is itself a good reason to travel there. Staff, expecially the reception, have been always friendly and attentive interacting in a genuine and spontaneous way. There was surely room... More

We stayed for 6 days to relax after a week of travelling. On arrival we were allocated our room which was ok..not spectacular despite the cost. Noted that all glass windows had gaps and needless to say we were eaten alive by mosquitos despite being given insect repellant. Our biggest gripe was the service. Despite 4 people standing around the... More

This boutique hotel is a hidden gem at the end of a beautiful sandy cove on the Buzios peninsula. There are probably only a dozen or so rooms. Lovely in-room amenities/toiletries and nice bedding/towels. I found the bed a little soft personally, but it did not detract unduly from the stay. The best thing about this hotel is their 5... More

I've been to Búzios on several occasions, but I was absolutely blown away the second I stepped into Insólito. The staff is charming and very helpful, seamlessly ensuring that every one of our needs is taken care of. The property oozes luxury, from the state of the art pools to the trendy beach club. The hotel has 25 rooms, which... More

Insolito, translated into English, means unusual or unique and yes, our stay at Insolito was pretty UNUSUAL AND UNIQUE, but not in the way we expected. We stayed there between Jan 5th-8th paying a daily rate of over EUR 1000. This tallies with some of the most high-end boutique hotels around the world where service of, as a minimum, a... More

We thank you for all your comments, which will be much important for our improvement. Last December the reputed chef David Jobert became responsible for our restaurants and new menus are being implemented, and this year three new rooms are available, with amazing views over the Ferradura beach. Our staff will keep improving their service standards and we hope to... More

I have just returned from a 10 day holiday in Rio and Buzios, and Insolito was certainly the highlight of our trip. My boyfriend and I spent 6 days at the hotel and we absolutely loved it. But where to begin... Insolito sits on the edge of Ferradura's beach and is immersed in lush nature. It is set up on... More

All the staff were great and helpful. The problem lay in our expectations of the place. Having experienced true luxury hotels in Asia, our experience here just didn't match up. It's a beautiful spot with fantastically designed interiors. But, swimming pools were really cold and the mosquitoes are hellish throughout Buzios. Beware that staff speak poor English and I just... Thank you for your comment regarding Insólito Boutique hotel. We are glad with your opinion about our interiors and that you enjoyed our staff. Insólito is starting great events for 2014, such as tapas and Brazilian moquecas menus, a fine brunch at the beach, and yoga classes in a native space. We are recruiting new employees and since this month,... More

I am an American in Brasil for work and decided to come here for the weekend. The hotel is very nice as are the employees. Problem is there is a massive language barrier. I don't speak Portuguese but I speak minimal Spanish. I am finishing it easier to communicate with the staff in Spanish than English. Very frustrating. If you... More
