Had a great stay, plenty of fun. A few weird experiences: large sexual tension between 2 members of staff, saw a guest taking a wet poo right outside, great info from the staff boring though, another guest kept falling off his bed and got some horrible bruises, lastly on my last night I awoke to a weird girl putting her... We stayed some days in Nov 2013. I loved this hostel that much, that I still remember it now (after sooo many other hostels). It is clean and so colorful. The staff is very helpful and friendly - always smiling. To stay at their bar is a pleasure. As it is a relatively small hostel you get easy around with... More

We opted to camp- and the tent was fairly dirty, but we got what we paid for- dirt. It got cold in the night, which was a first for our time in Brazil, so if you do opt to camp, be ready. The indoors has good wifi, nice bunk beds, and outdoors has a bar, a cool converted minivan/room, and... More

My husband and I stayed at Favela Chic in March and everything was FANTASIC!!! The hostel has heaps of space to chill out and relax in. The loung room was built around a beautiful tree, the floors are unique from mosaic tiles to rock gardens with tree cut stepping pads across it. The bar is relaxing and has hammocks and... More

Lovely lovely place! I stayed 3 days at the hostel because it's a great place to chill after a day to the waterfalls but also to just relax a whole day. Nick and Pablo make you feel at home right away (pablo makes the best caiperinhas) and they hep you with everything. Also, amazing design of the hostel with the... More

All round good hostel. Nick (owner) and Pablo make you feel very at ease. A home away from home. We initially planned to stay for one night and get a bus the following afternoon. Nick kindly let my friends and I stick around until our bus later that afternoon. When the bus was full we head straight back to Favela... More

Tudo Bem... Best Chilling sessions ever... The garden, the pool, the host... THE HAMMOCK por favor (I've past like 5 days in this hammock and it was perfect...) Very close to the bus and with facilities to go to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world (Argentine side and Brezilian side too). The host is gonna make you... More

I enjoyed my stay here. The communal garden is very chill - lots of hammocks, sofas for a relaxing time. Most people are out at the falls all day, but it does get a bit more lively in the evenings. The staff are friendly but NEVER around - I know they have a lot of problems with people not paying.... More

Situated in possibly the most convenient position for catching a bus to most places in Foz, but most conveniently the bus to the falls themselves! I arrived exhausted but felt immediately welcomed into this unique hostel and spent three restful nights there. The atmosphere was very nice no matter how many or few guests where around on any particular day.... More

Favela chic is run by al lovely, charming couple. It's a story of an Englishman in Brazil traying all he can to make this a great place (out of passion). He and his wife happen to have bad luck in the past, circumstances beyond one's control, but survived all this with a super cool hostel as a result. Our stay... More
