The hotel is not the newest or the cheapest, it's just what to accept from a 3 star hotel. Most of the employees don't speak or understand english. The houskeeping dep. called twice, first in brazilian then in poor english, asking if they could clean the room. Reason: The do not disturb sign was hanging on the door. In the... More

Placed in the heart of Belem, close to the Basilica de Nazare in one hand and to the Teatro da Paz on the other side, it's well located and well furnished after a recent renovation. Suite rooms are better than the Superior ones, with two rooms (one with a couch) and two flat TVs, one or two king size beds... More

This medium-sized hotel in Belem, the busy colonial-origin city at the mouth of the Amazon in Brazil, is friendly, attractive, convenient, and comfortable. The best part is the staff. They are so nice and efficient. The desk and business center staff are always helpful for computer problems and phone-fax communications. People at the hotel really go out of their way... More

My stay was for four nights on business. Hotel staff is very friendly, rooms are reasonably sized, but the one I had was to the main street and 'used' - the same applies to the bathroom. I would describe the hotel as average. The aircon was one of those old style machines, a bit noisy, but I still slept ok.... More

After seeing this hotel hasn't been reviewed in 4 years I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. I stayed 8 days in this hotel so quite a while to get the full effect. Ok, it's standard enough but it's fine, the staff are quite helpful, the air con is great in the lobby, coffee in the little bar was... More

I stayed here February 2005 and cannot speak too highly of the staff, they were excptionally helpful to a lone, disabled woman traveller. The breakfast buffet was a feast for the eyes as well as the body. I had a view of the Amazon from my very comfortable room.

i stayed at this hotel in april 2005. i've stayed at a few hotels in belem, all of which were both nicer and cheaper. the hotel has no charm. the pool is a joke -- tiny and boxed in by the walls of large building. on the positive side, the room and bathroom are nice and spotless, and the hotel... The Regente is a wonderful bargain for the price. Perfectly comfortable rooms, especially those designated luxo, with all the necessities. A good restaurant and an excellent breakfast. The coffee is perfect, and the music selection just right (usually Djavan!). Best things about it: the great and helpful staff, and the location, which is a short walk from all the action... More
