I don't know how much of it I would give to this lodge and how much to the place in general, but overall it was an amazing experience. It is about 4.5 hrs drive from Campo Grande and is locatted inside the forest, just by the Rio Miranda. The food was quite good (though it was repititive, so same things... More

Pluses - location next to the river but expect mosquito bites. The boat ride (3 hours) in the river was scenic with some caymans visible here and there. Evening horse ride (almost an hour) was a pleasing experience even if you are a novice or an amateur - a must do activity if you are around. some piranha fishing later... More

We booked our trip to Pantanal through Pantanal Viagens e Turismo, and stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. From Campo Grande, we travelled by van and then got picked up by the hotel's open jeep. Their guides, Bruno and Israel were fluent in English, and explained things well to the guests. Our activities were Piranha fishing, canoeing, river safari,... More

I had fairly low expectations to be honest so I was presently surprised by the standard of accommodation here.   Fairly clean rooms with comfortable bed, nice bathroom and hot shower and even a flat screen TV. It's not luxurious but not bad either. Food was better than I expected for buffet meals too. Our guide Israel was fabulous. He... More

A little nervous after some of the reviews we decided to use Gil's pantanale discovery. He met us at the airport as arranged, took us to the hotel in Campo Grande (cheap and basic but more than adequate), told us a bit about the town and met us the next day at breakfast to outline transport details. He warned us... More

Located near the road but boat and jeep safaris take you further out to see nature. Very basic accommmodation. No mosquito net. I would suggest bring your own with plenty of repellant and DEET. Mosquitoes ALL day (not just at dusk or dawn). Activities were fun and well organised. Food was good (but much of it was fried. Drinks were... More

I went to the panatanal tour on a group excursion organized by the famous Gill (I can't remember the name of his agency but you'll find him easily on the internet just looking for Gill and Panatanal). At the beginning I was skeptical because all the Internet talked about this Gill and I was afraid it was a very gringo... More

We spent 3 days in the Pantanal with Pantanal Discovery and had a great experience. The accommodation, facilities and meals at the Lontra exceeded our expectations. The activities were well organised and we couldnt have asked for anything more...plenty of wildlife. Gil from Pantanal Discovery went above and beyond to ensure we had a good trip. He is passionate, flexible,... More

After visiting the Transpantaneira in the north of the Pantanal out of Cuiaba and staying in the over-charging and unfulfilling UESO Vittoria pousada for a few days, we flew to Campo Grande to do a 10 day bus hop organised by GREENTOADBUS.com. We were met off the plane (important as little English is spoken in Brazil ) by the exuberant... More

I recently did a 3 day/2 night trip to the Pantanal which was organised through Pantanal Discovery in Campo Grande. Gil from Pantanal discovery was very good, being quick to respond to my emails and providing me with all the necessary information regarding the trip. He also picked me up from my accommodation out in the suburbs on the day... More
