We booked a 3 day 2 night Pantanal tour through Gil's Pantanal Discovery. We had a brilliant time and did a range of activities, including walking tours, jeep sarafi, night-time safari and boat trip, canoeing, floating in the river and piranha fishing. Our guide, Pepinho, was exceptional and very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. We saw caiman, capybara, an... More

My friend and I booked the 3 day package with Pantanal Discovery. It was really easy to book - we just contacted Gil and we were all set! It includes a lot of things so it's worth the money: the transfers, the food, the accommodations, and the excursions/activities. I would definitely recommend booking with Pantanal Discovery! Our guide Luiz was... More

My finance and I just got back from a 3D2N tour in the Pantanal. We booked through Pantanal Discovery, an agency run by Gil, and ended up at Pousada Lontra. Gil was super efficient at answering emails and this was one of the reasons we went with his company. The day of the our, Gil picked us up at the... More

We stayed at Lontra Pantanal Hotel for two nights. When we arrived at reception and attempted to check in, the owner ignored us and focused on handling issues with another family that was checking in for 15-20 minutes. In general, the owner did not seem to appreciate his guests at all – once he had your money, he did not... More

We arranged the trip via Gil. Everything was really well organised including the pick-up from the airport in Campo Grande. The hotel was basic but clean and the food buffet was really nice. Our guide (Carlos) spoke very good English and guided us very well. The activities were super fun and very adventerous.

This review is written in English as we saw that most people staying at Lontra Pantanal Hotel were foreigners from non-Latin speaking countries. We therefore believe it important to write in English so that the “target” guests of Lontra Pantal Hotel can be informed. Due to the vast range of disservices endured during our stay what will be mentioned here... More

We booked this hotel through Gil. We knew what to expect and we were not dissapointed. Everything was delivered. The hotel is not so deep in Pantanal, the activities were reasonable, we did canoeying, horseback riding and walking tour. Food was ok not super great as well as the rooms. Prices of drinks were reasonable. If you want to spend... More

Fully recommend this place: clean, comfortable, helpful staff, good breakfast, and very affordable price. I stayed with my couple in one of the private rooms: despite the remote location of the place, the room were tidy, comfortable and well equipped, the meals included in the stay were plentiful and delicious, and the guides working there are professional and helpful. We... More

I don't know how much of it I would give to this lodge and how much to the place in general, but overall it was an amazing experience. It is about 4.5 hrs drive from Campo Grande and is locatted inside the forest, just by the Rio Miranda. The food was quite good (though it was repititive, so same things... More

Pluses - location next to the river but expect mosquito bites. The boat ride (3 hours) in the river was scenic with some caymans visible here and there. Evening horse ride (almost an hour) was a pleasing experience even if you are a novice or an amateur - a must do activity if you are around. some piranha fishing later... More
