Fazenda San Francisco is due west from Campo Grande, which during the hours before sunset is quite a challenge in clear weather as the sun is in your face. Keep those shades ready! The name of the farm is indeed after the Californian city. The grandfather of the current owner, who lived in San Francisco named the farm in honor... More

Both domestic and wild animals will be your company the whole time. Schedule is pretty tight, and there is always something to do, but you can fill the time with swimmingpool or feeding parrots. During the breaks hot and cold food is served, more than you can eat and mostly made of local products. Rooms are creatively designed and clean.... More

This is a remote and beautiful location. The wildlife is varied and abundant and the guides and activities put on were great. Canoeing up and down the river was a wonderful experience. Even a stroll around the grounds ensured you encountered some excellent wildlife: Caymen, coypu, peccaries, monkeys. marmosets and deer were all seen easily. Add to this rich birdlife and... More

We stayed 3 days in these beautifull setting , welcome by "prince negro" parrots, wild life present 24-7, service and food great, self suficiant, for beef, rice and veggies Safaris were great, we didn t expect to see as much as wild animals, tapir, birds, mammals... Air condition worked very well, and these fazenda has few rooms so you feel... More

If you are looking for luxury accommodation, a great spa and fine dining, go elsewhere. This spot is a jewel for eco-tourism, allowing you to dive deep into nature. No cell phone coverage!! But the Pousada has WiFi internet, which works pretty well, and via Skype, you can call your folks back home to share what you have seen. We... More

I have been with my two kids (5 and 13 years old) and my mother to Fazenda São Francisco for 4 nights, 5 days. My wife couldn't make because of her appointments. The place is really awesome. It is a big farm, which has over 50% of the land dedicated to protect the environment, but even the other 50% they... More

Our one day pass was an excellent way of enjoying the fazenda without incurring too much cost. Many hotels available in Miranda so to commute in and out for the day was very easy and as a bonus very affordable. As it happened they were fully booked with a party of 30 so there was no way we could have... More

It's a amazing place for wildlife watching. Especially for birding and Giant Anteaters. With some luck ocelot or even a jaguar. The lodges are verry basic. A big disadvantage is the possibility of sleeping next to a bunch of kids who are on a trip from school. We were not lucky... it was noisy until 4 o'clock in the middle... More

Our birding group spent 3 great nights here: wildlife viewing is superb, world class. Excellent views of giant anteaters, giant river otters (one of rarest mammals in SAmerica), ocelot, tapir, crabeating foxes, coatamundi, capybara, caiman, monkeys, & thousands of birds. The Fazenda includes morning, afternoon, evening drives with onsite naturalists, hikes on extensive boardwalks through wetlands, in addition to riverboat... More
