I really enjoyed the pousada Santa Clara. The fazenda is full of animals and birds and would be greatly enjoyed by both kids and adults. I organized my trip to the Pantanal with Al Macedo at the Klein Hostal in Foz de Iguaccu. He was very knowledeable and told me exactly everything that I would do on my tour with... More

Pousada Santa Clara is a nice Pousada in the middle of the Pantanal. It is about 5 hours from Campo Grande. One hour of which is in a truck across a well maintained dirt road. The accomodation is basic. The nature and the tours are great. Our guide Pedro was nice and knowledgeable. He stood with his bare feet in... More

Great starting point for visiting the Pantanal. The pousada offered nice half-day trips which included hiking, boating, fishing and horseback riding. Piranha fishing is one of the most fun things to do. Saw a lot of caimans, but unfortunately no capibara. :(

I am writing this review because I spent 3 hours sifting through Trip Advisor reviews before booking our tour company reading complaint after compliant that it made it really hard to trust anyone or any company. We stayed in Iguassu and made our way up to the Pantanal around mid July 2014. From Iguassu we caught an overnight bus (60... More

The lodge is comfortable and we thought the food was very good. We had to pay for wifi but it worked well on my iphone 4 (but not on my husbands iphone 5 but I think that is his phone more than anything!) We saw a lot of wildlife during our stay and found the day safari with hike the... More

The experiences that you get on this tour while staying at Santa Clara are less that impressive. The wildlife in this section of the pantanal don't compare to what you find in the north. The food here is average. It is beans rice and dry chicken every day. If you go, the camping is the cheap option, but you are... More

We booked it without knowing what to expect but were very pleasantly surprised! The lodge itself is an excellent accommodation. The dorms are very nice, the 3 meals a day were excellent! There's a swimming pool, football field, beach volley, pool table, table tennis and much more! The bar provides excellent (not included in the price) caiparinhas! The tour includes... More

The whole time I was there I tried to be positive but in the end I hated this place and I have never had that before! I stayed four days in the camping site and the activities include: Day 1 - Arrive mid-day and meet your guide who says your tour starts tomorrow. Have an argument with the aggressive receptionist... Santa clara is the place to be at Pantanal. The place is really nice: they have a nice dorms with confortable beds, a great common area with games, a cable tv, hammocks,an amaizing kichen and a lot of nature aroud the hostel. The food is unbelivable!!! The staff is really helpfull... thanks Lobão, Paulo, Sando and Zé!

Perhaps my expectations were misguided, but this is not a pantanal wilderness experience. It's more of a farm or ranch visit, with some excursions. That being said we had a fine time, but your not deep in it. The lodge is about 4 to 5 hours on a sealed road from campo grande and another hour on a rough road... More
